Aundre Hyatt appreciation thread

I believe Aundre Hyatt is being under-appreciated despite playing hurt most of last year! Had his ups and downs but played pretty well! I expect him to be a major contributor this upcoming season and don’t think he’ll transfer like most of y’all think

If we land 1 more recruit which we're expected to, he would be out. His spot could be saved if Watford decided to also go pro like Williams though.
Just a numbers thing

Cooper will transfer before Hyatt

Also I expect Watford to stay in the draft

Cooper is already out, just hasn't announced anything officially. Bishop is gone, Cooper will say he is. Hyatt is waiting on seeing what Watford does, but we are trying very hard to land 1 more player (Cisse) in the recruiting class.
If we land 1 more player in the class, that's 9 recruits/transfers, which only leaves 4 spots for players to return. Days, Smart, Manning and Watford would take precedence over Hyatt in that case.

Let’s just say Watford stays in the draft and Hyatt stays at LSU, do you think Hyatt could contribute

Sure he could contribute, but last year wasn't all that promising either. If he stays he has got to improve his 3 point shot because it was pretty terrible last year for a guy who when he played fired up a few 3's.

Yeah and I think he will

Imo he was playing hurt

He sat out all of 2018-19 season healing up, I dont think he was hurt at all last season, maybe knocking off rust from missing a season playing.

The stroke looked smooth. I feel like he's a guy who drills them in practice but hasn't gotten the feel of the game shot yet. I don't think WW would have let him chunk if he didn't think he had potential.

Dont really agree here, his misses were usually way way off, not "oh he just barely rimmed one out".
He looked like a guy who hadn't played basketball in a year, I'm sure he can improve from 24% but he has never been a high percentage 3 point guy. Even in high school he was in the mid 30% range at best. We've got a lot of good shooters coming in who shot more like the 40%+ range recently.
