They're not leaving the games early cool guy.
I can see it with my own two eyes. It is the third quarter and the camera scans the crowd and there are empty seats everywhere. The same thing happened in the Vanderbilt game. It doesn't make any sense. Why go if you are going to leave in the 3rd quarter? What's the point?
We have something like 7 or 8 freaking home games a year. LSU fans wait all year for a chance to go to games and then you leave the first game half way through and the second game in the 3rd quarter?
I'm sorry if the truth hurts, but LSU fans are developing a problem. Personally, I think that people just want to sit at their tailgate and get drunk and they don't really care a whole lot about football.
I too was at the LSU-Auburn game last year. It was really loud. I went to the LSU-Auburn game in 2006 and it was a really raucous crowd from start to finish - far louder than Bryant-Denny.
The first game I ever went to at Tiger Stadium was the Earthquake Game in 1988. That game was unbelievable. I've been to a couple of other games since then and they were very loud. Just wondering what is going on. The announcers are talking about it every week, by the way.
Maybe we need to put down the Bourbon and actually focus on football a little. It seems that our crowd gets really tired around the 3rd quarter. Or drunk.

why are we comparing apples to oranges
auburn was playing a competitive opponent in west Virginia, a premier out of conference opponent, and when the rain came the game hadnt even started yet
LSU was playing vandebilt last week in what was a very boring game, and the ULL game this week was never that close and was never supposed to be competitive.
If LSU was playing WV and it rained right before kick off, the same exact thing would have happened in Tiger Stadium that happened in Auburn. FACT

I refuse to gripe about people leaving early because I haven't been able to make it to a game yet. It just seems hypocritical to me.

Well, when you live about a 7 hour drive from Baton Rouge, it's kind of hard to make it to games.
I've been watching LSU all my life. It didn't used to be this way. I'm just wondering why. The first game, even against sorry opponents, would see people pumped up. Vandy was an SEC opponent that won their bowl game last year and the game was close in the 4th quarter. Seems like something to stick around for.
But, what do I know? I obviously need others to enlighten me on how it is a good thing to spend all day tailgating and then go to the first 2 1/2 quarters of the first home game and then leave - and do the same thing the next week. Apparently, that makes sense to some people.
Well, now we don't have another home game until Florida comes to town. I hope that people enjoyed their 5 quarters of football in Tiger Stadium during the month of September.

I would've left early against ULL. I'm about 3 1/2 hrs from Tiger Stadium, so unless it's a good game against a quality opponent, I try to skip out a few minutes early.

thats what happens when u have a team that is stacked, underachieving versus an underdog with fire trying to make a name for it self. dissapointment versus optimistic excitement without the fear of dissapointment

Well said and right on.
Until LSU has a signature win and announces ourselves as a serious NC contender I don't think the in-stadium support will be that great against what are perceived to be inferior teams.

I KNOW that our fans wouldn't have done that.

I was at the Vandy game. The rain was fine until halftime, when it got downright cold and depressing. It was awful. But it let up right before the third quarter started. But even I was tempted to leave. And there's a big difference when it's raining during a bad game and when it rains before a huge OOC revenge game.

You think Auburn fan would have stayed to watch ULL?

I think Auburn fans would have stayed to watch Auburn. I didn't go to the first two games to see Vandy or ULL, I went to see LSU.

Arkansas has plenty of room on their band waggon. They play exciting football. You can go watch Arkansas score 38 pts a game, and finish with a record of 5-7 if you like. I'll stick to watching winning football.

LSU fans are showing that they are spoiled. If LSU isn't winning by 35 pts, then it's a bad game. LSU beating conference opponents isn't enough any more. LSU fans are expecting the Tigers to be perfect. Nothing but 3 and outs on defense, and even scoring drives this year are criticized because it takes to long. According to the LSU fan, LSU should score inside of 6 plays or else the coaches aren't utilizing all of our offensive talent.
As for me, I'm going to keep showing up and watching all of the game, even after the Tigers lose their first game this year. I don't consider a 1 or 2 loss season a disaster.

Negative: If LSU is winning by 35 points then the fans are leaving because LSU is up by 35 points..

Really? I was at the ULL game. People started streaming out in the 3d quarter. "Great" fans. Yeah, I know, it's a free country, I paid for the ticket, I have the right to leave when I want, blah blah blah. But PLEASE, no more of the "Death Valley," "Earthquake Game," etc ad nauseum.

Jordan Hare was louder from start to finish than any game I've ever been to in Death Valley.

please tell me how LSU is underachieving after allowing 10 defensive points in the last 2 games, beating a quality team on the road, and being 1-0 in the SEC

DEFINITION OF AN AUBURN FAN: SOMEONE WHO IS HOMELESS AND DOESN'T HAVE ENOUGH SENSE TO GET OUT OF THE RAIN.
