My only consolation over this will be seeing them left out of the tourney altogether. If things hold, they were one of the last 4 out
Old Piss and Piss St being out of the tourney is sweet! Too bad the Pigs didn't join them.

We got swept by Ole Miss at a crucial point in the season
Auburn lost their last series to Kentucky and were bounced in the 1st round of the SECT, also by Kentucky. And they finished with a worse SEC record than LSU. Florida finished 15-15 in the SEC. They also lost H2H, at home, to LSU.

Just don’t schedule anymore in state weeknight games.
Just schedule them all on the road. Apparently kicking the shite out of a Q4 team matters more if it’s not at home

Auburn should host ahead of LSU, but UF hosting is bull shite. But, the committee goes almost entirely on RPI, and the Gators had a better RPI and made the SEC Tournament Championship. Also, getting swept by Ole Miss hurt a lot.
Auburn was 16-14 against conference teams. LSU was 18-15. Auburn did go 2-1 in their weekend against the Big 12 compared to 1-2 for LSU, but they also lost 2 of 3 to MTSU. Overall that put both teams at 19-17 against their top weekend/tournament opponents. LSU had 3 midweek losses, but 2 of those were to RPI #33 La Tech. Auburn had a midweek loss to #178 and a weekend loss to #132.
The resumes are actually very similar. LSU had one more loss. Auburn had one more weekend loss. LSU played more major opponents. Auburn won the head-to-head. LSU finished the season stronger. It really depends which factors you value more.

Don't lose to Kensucky.
LSU 100% got what it deserved. I laugh at any fricker who thinks we really deserved a 1 seed.

This would be valid if we didn’t subsequently sweep the #5 RPI team on the road and get projected to host after that. We played SEC tournament without 2 of our 4 best players and still got a win.
Speaking of “crucial point”, Florida is hosting SOLELY because of their SECt. Without even broaching how stupid that is, simple logic would indicate that means the tournament is important.
Auburn, who also finished behind us in the SEC, completely bombed out of the tournament. But guess what? They are still hosting. The logic falls apart at every turn
It makes absolutely no sense for Florida to host over us. It’s mind-blowingly nonsensical
