and no, other than cooking it at home there is not one decent cajun restaurant around here anymore

have you tried French Quater Grill/Mama Roux's. I think it is pretty good.

I will take pluckers with a mixed crowd over lavaca. wish that was where the offocial watch parties were located, any pluckers north of downtown.

Ahhh, the South Lamar Pluckers has the best atmosphere and the best outdoor seating (in Austin). The best outdoor seating is in San Marcos...

Pardon me, I meant where I can get the best Jambalaya and Etouffee in town or out of town for that matter!

Best I have found is Louisiana Longhorn Cafe in Round Rock. I love their Etoufee.

I've been here almost 7 years and didn't know about Lavaca. I would come join but I will be at the game. Maybe the next one though.

to each his own. most people i know like pluckers. it seems people that live in downtown area or south austin don't like going past 183 and people in round rock, georgetown, cedar park and leander don't like going downtown as much and would probably prefer a place better suited to bring kids. there are a lot of lsu folks up north. might be time to setup a second watch party. other wise, I would rather just have people over to the house and watch the game there. all that being said, hope you guys have fun at lavaca this year.

yeah, it's like MLK for me, I wont go anywhere further north than that

but yes, Wilco Tiger Fans dont like coming to town any more than we like to go north. And any place that allowed kids would be a dealbreaker for me

setup a second watch party.

I've given up on trying - people are going to do what they're going to do. We should probably have 4: Shoal Creek/Lavaca/one in Westlake/one in Wilco

I'll be watching at home. I suspect I'll be drinking entirely too much to be in public.

Say I wanted to give Jambalaya a shot at Lavaca at some point, what are the steps I need to take?

one in Wilco :cheers

I saw on the LSU Austin Alumni email last week that "they/we" have a 'Tigers with Cubs' chapter. You can email some person to set up a rotating game viewing in the Cedar Park / Leander area that is "child friendly".

Though I have a little one, sadly, I don't consider myself to be a good person for kids to be around during an LSU game.

Is this Austin's LSU hangout? I'll be in town for a three day bike race.
