Family is going to ATL for the bowl game. 5 yr and 7 yr old sons - Staying at the Hilton (Team Hotel) Am I better off driving to the stadium or taking MARTA there and walking back?

We went to the SECCG last year and a shite load of people were walking back to the hotels.

If we win, MARTA = big fun

If we lose, MARTA = not so much

MARTA

Just worried about the ride back. THE SECCG the wait was terrible...so we just walked...but we did not have our sons.

I am guessing that there will be a good deal of people walking back to the Peachtree Center...but not too sure

I lived in Atlanta for 32 years before finally getting to the coast...and went to GaTech.

If I was staying at the Hilton Atlanta (not Hilton Atlanta Airport)...I would walk both ways. It is only 1 mile walking (1.5 miles driving because of one-ways). MARTA would take forever to go that 1 mile.

Def walk. It's way faster.

walk.

this is like saying, "the LSU game just finished. Should I drive to walkons, or walk there?"

Walk... unless the weather is bad.

It is winter, and Atlanta does get ice/snow. Also, I'm guessing your kids would get a kick out of riding the train even if it is more inconvenient.

Yes, this is why I would ride the train to the game...and walk back. Not too sure what the downtown ATL scene will be like after the game.

MARTA could be fun/interesting for the kids, but beware. On a night in which so much is going on in town, you're likely to be squeezed into the train like sardines.

The worst that I've seen was back during the '96 Olympics. It took several minutes, just to get the doors closed, because so many people were unable to force their way in and were blocking the doors.

Ride to / walk back is definitely the way to go. MARTA will be packed after the game lets out, and you should just forget driving unless you're staying outside of town.

I would walk if you are with a crowd...otherwise be weary...My friends work at CNN and there have been a few muggings just a block off Marietta street...Marta if you aren't with a crowd.
