This from someone close to the program:
One offensive player told me he was, “really disappointed that the fans would do that to us.
A defensive starter told me, “Do people think that booing is going to fix the problem? Come on. Do people think that is going to help the confidence of the offense? Do they not realize that kills confidence? You might as well just pull for the other team.”
Another source said, “Look, we’re all frustrated. But killing what little confidence Jordan has is so counterproductive. He is going to play, why not support him?”
I asked a few players if they thought the boos were for Les Miles and got a unanimous answer, they don’t care who they were for. Every one of them said booing anyone is booing all of them.
One defensive player said, “It doesn’t matter if it is booing Coach Miles, Jordan or me, you are booing LSU.”

I don't think you are giving them much credit. It's pretty obvious to everyone in the media and on the internet that LSU fans hate Les Miles and want him gone. I'm sure recruits and players are aware of what is happening around them.
You boo the coach you boo the players. It's called being part of a team. Not many people have had the privilege of being part of a close-knit team.
I would never expect some of you to understand.
