if O is gone after this year, then that means he has basically destroyed LSU football.

BS. Going into next season, if Brennan is healthy, we will have three QBs with talent and experience. When was the last time that was true?
The present defense, with an experienced QB, could beat every team on the schedule with the exception of Alabama and Florida.

If recruiting goes as expected, we will be competitive with the top teams again soon.

as Gene Chizik 2.0. The stars aligned with Burrow and Brady for one magical year, but that only temporarily masked the issues.

As a coach who caught lightning in a bottle but simply didn't have the ability to or IQ to be a long term success at LSU. He failed to handle the trappings of success and fortune and will always be remembered more for the fall that followed the success.

Because his fall is without comparison. Never has there been anything close. And no, Gene didn't fail this badly.

As a guy who climbed to the mountain top, against all odds, and lost his mind when he got there.

2020 was much sweeter than 2007 and 2004 (IMO).

2004 was 9-4 so you’re correct. For older Tiger fans 2003 was pretty sweet. It 45 years to win another title and it meant LSU was back. It established the foundation for the greatest period in LSU Football history.
2019’s achievements exceeded 2003 without a doubt but we were a long suffering fanbase before 2003.
2007 pales in comparison. Two losses, three near losses and a once in a generation collapse of two teams ranked ahead of us on the final weekend gifted us an opportunity for the title.
