The Tigers have made some serious upgrades the last two seasons in the assistant ranks.

This has not yet been proven. The only upgrade that is proven is DC and that is not an "assistant".

Considering our DC is also a position coach(LB), he is considered an assistant.

Wrong. A poster above described it perfectly. Arkansas
Their QB is way better, Oline is better, RB's are probably equal (we recruited all of their key guys), TE is way better and their top 3-4 WR's have experience and proven results in the SEC, so that makes them better even if they won't beat ours in a relay race

Most ridiculous thing I have read on the Rant in quite a while, Dennis. No wonder Shaq fired you.

I disagree. Based on actual results from past performance (not potential or recruiting stars) here's where I'm coming from:

QB: Absolutely no question Mallett is better than ours.

Oline: They return 4 starters. We have 3 unknowns (Hurst, Blackwell, Lonergan) and 2 starters returning that are not top-tier starters based on past performance.

RB: Broderick Green and Dennis Johnson have been in the SEC for 2-3 years now. I can't remember their 3rd guy, but as a position they are every bit as good as Ridley, Murphy and Ford.

WR: Slight edge to LSU due to more potential, but Arkansas' top 3 are good as well and have put up good numbers for 2-3 years. I don't think they have individual talent like our 3 but have been productive.

TE: DJ williams is all SEC 2 years running.

I wouldn't say Hurst, Blackwell and Lonergan are unknowns. Blackwell got 51 snaps last year including the entire 2nd half at Georgia. Lonergan got 118 snaps last year including 2 starts. Hurst played at least one series on offense in each of the last 5 games. While I agree, these guys need to gel as a unit, they have all gotten some valuable playing time and have proven they know what they are doing and can get the job done in an SEC game.

Anyone saying Arkansas has more talent than LSU doesn't follow college football very much. That'd be like saying Hawaii with Colt Brennan had more talent than LSU or the Saints offense was the most talented in the NFL. The Saints offense has to do with a great system. As does Arky's offense. Their receivers look good because of a good qb and a WR friendly system.

On field (i.e., player) talent I think we have more than Bama and the same as FL. You must have hit the wrong keys when you typed in Arky. If you add coaching, we're clearly third overall despite our on field talent.
