Sign me up, we need production at the QB position and JL played well in the spring game so he deserves a shot to get our offense going.

I defended Jordan all last year, all summer, all this year. Seriously went after everyone who bitched about him. I brought up that he was statistically better than Matt Barkley, and though a class ahead, only 13 days older. The dude has had no bigger champion than me. Based on the promise he showed in the chik-fil-a, he should be great by now.

but he's not. he's not even competent.

Lee still scares me, but that he's even still here, when the easy thing to do, the smart thing to do, would have been to transfer after his freshman year, is really impressive to me. his life could not have been easy, and he toughed that shite out when he didn't have to.

I'm on board. He should start against Miss State and play at least the first half. He really does have a terrific arm, even when he sucked his freshman year he made some great throws against Auburn. Even if he's terrible we should be able to run and play defense enough to win.

I know you are in mourning over the latest qb scenarios, however props to you for showing your face in this thread.

Anyone else notice RS getting pissed at JJ during 3rd qt?

Yes, I saw it last night on the CST replay but I didn't on the ESPN coverage. He threw the ball back towards the LOS after JJ missed him wide and low for the 3rd time in the game.

All BS aside, JL deserves serious PT sat night.

Guilbeau's article on the TD homepage says he won't BUT I don't think it will take a 3-12 outing to get JL off the bench this week.

Why are we buring redshirts on rb's like they are going out of style?

Because they are some of the best athletes on the team. Blue is making more than half of the tackles on kickoffs. We have so many good RBs current and future that I don't think it's a bad thing.. let's play the talent and win games.

Question:

Can J. Lee run the option any better than J. Jefferson, and if your answer is not an unequivical "Yes", how is he any better of an option at qb for LSU since we run a lot of option?

crawfishing, lying pos you are.
You cant fricking stand whats happening right now concering qb postion and if JL happens to get the start and plays well you and about 3 or 4 others are either go into crybaby meltdown mode or quit posting all together.

Just quit posting about this topic if you are going to try to make people think you are some sort of "team" player... you look like an idiot.
seriously.

everyone keeps bashing lee in the tech game? ive watched the game 3 times- 1 @ game and twice since. and the ENTIRE TEAM played terrible AND tech played devensively lights out. so it wasnt like lee played any worse than anyother lsu offensive player did

What is that old saying?

When coaches start listening to the fans, it won't be long before they are sitting with them.

That old saying assumes that the coach doesn't see what the fans see. Surely Miles sees that JJ is not panning out. JJ always looks awkward in the pocket, and has only 1 throw. No improvement since day 1. Time for a change.

he should be great by now, i dont get it. he showed all the promise in the world.

but right now we have a very winnable 3 game stretch, no matter how bad the QB play is, and if were ever gonna win the SEC, now is the time to see what Lee can do.

well...I dont know how I can put this....it took the last two years in posting...

JJ has "tools" big, strong...velocity on his ball...etc...tools dont make a QB...millions of examples...

you have to have it between the ears...you have to have awareness of whats going on around you...you can look at certain things he does and know very quickly that he is not gonna be what you want him to be..

My dad has been coaching football and QB's i might add for 40 yrs...he saw jefferson after a game or two, two years ago and told me "that kid will never be a QB...his release is too slow and he doesnt think fast enough...you cant hide a QB..." he went on to talk about his mannerisms and how he carried himself, his expressions and how those things never change about a person...I saw the same thing and thought the same way...he said a lot of things and knew that LSU was going to have a poor o last year and this year if he continues to play

you can even read my post history, i said this a long time ago... (we got by with him but as some point half million dollar coords are gonna get him...) dad said the same thing...

now a release you can fix...see tebow...but the others...you cant....your born that way...

he's also said that with time that Lee would do better...he's one of those ones you have to go through growing pains with but in the end they can be really good...

Answer:

1st off, I could live with never seeing another option run this year.
2nd, in all honesty I can't remember the last good option run JJ made. He doesn't make the pitch at the right time- so it's not like we'd be losing a weapon that was working

I hate the option, but we are going to run it hell or high water, so you must consider it.

Apparently Lee is so bad at the option that we use to run in A. Hatch to run that part of our offense.
