The committee didnt value AU any higher than they should have. They valued beating two number ones in short order. Either the committee has to think their list is shite, or they needed to reward them with a higher ranking.

If Auburn had beaten LSU, but lost to Georgia in SECCG, they would have still picked Alabama due to the bias towards them.
