Fun fact. I graduated high school with Gary. And Pete Bush.

Then you were a year or two behind me. I still keep in touch with those guys.

Just waiting for that sweet new mitt to be broken in. Catchers catching pitches is helpful.

Did you know some of the guys in the class of ‘88. Grew up playing BREC football with Steve Caruso, Scott Urbach and Troy Scott. One of my good friends in the Marines is Scott Lang.

Rode by the Belaire Baseball field the other day. They don't even have the bleachers anymore. Probably sold for scrap. The lot behind the center field fence where they had the mobile home is available if any of y'all are looking for a new place to live

Shane and Shaan.

Tragedy what happened to Shane. He had a bright future.

Shaan became a BRPD cop. He pulled me over on LSU Ave. one night. When he saw who I was, he laughed, told me to slow it down and sent me on my merry way.

I realize Serna is going to have his own fair share of ups and downs - especially hitting - but he has way more potential than Bide. I don't care what anyone says. 2 years into the program Bide hasn't improved much of anything so far. Serna has potential record setting power if we're talking about their bats. When he barrels a ball you better be ready to play defense like that last AB last night that somehow the 3B made an amazing play on. Not giving up on Bide - but he honestly feels like to me he needs to work harder. That's what it feels like with his mannerisms. He looks like he just doesn't seem to care much. Just an observation maybe that's just how he looks.

Someone in here said the 118 off Serna's bat earlier this season was an error but if it was, it sure doesn't seem like it considering what we've seen so far. He blasted one 454ft. into left center. That guy has scary potential when it comes to power and barely in LSU's program to get stronger. Serna is already starting to threaten Bide but it's too early to say the light is coming on for him. He's been good lately though. Bat wise at least. Both are abysmal on defense.

Troy played on the o-line for us and Scott played d-line. I remember hearing about Scott passing away while we were on senior trip in Fort Walton. Ran into a group from Belaire while we were down there and they were devastated hearing that news. His older brother Todd was our “equipment manager/water boy” for a couple years.

I remember BREC had those weight limits for for each division and it must’ve been our 7th grade year and Troy was one of the guys that was always on verge of being over the limit. Most of the Friday walk thru practices, they had Troy in one of those shiny silver suits sweating his arse off trying to make weight.

Scott Templet played with my brother one year for the senior Broncos and Templet was unbelievable to watch at that age. Dude probably had close to double digit KO returns for touchdowns that year.

I’m honestly shocked that Jay hasn’t tried to fix his form/swing since Jays expertise is hitting. But idk maybe Jay has tried to help Arrambide but he just can’t break his habits at the plate

Scott Templet was hell of an athlete. He was pitcher for the River bend raiders fast pitch team i (sat the bench) on. lol
He died some years back. Heard he got mixed up in drugs at some point.
