This excuse is getting very old and frankly screams I’ve given up. First off general arm soreness should not keep you up 3 weeks in Cole Henry’s case and it should absolutely not keep you out 3 months in Jaden Hill’s case. shite Mike Fiers just threw a 131 pitch no hitter for the Athletics last night and I’m sure his arm is going to be a little sore. You think Oakland is going to hold him out? I’ll help you out the answer is no. Either there is a much bigger issue that they are refusing to reveal or they just want to be able to use the excuse at the end of the year when our record sucks and we miss out on Omaha again that our pitching wasn’t good enough. Also is Nick Storz a real person? I’m starting to believe not because all we every heard about this guy was that he threw in the mid 90’s and vie for a weekend spot. He’s pitched what all of two innings for us.

One of the former LSU pitchers went on 104.5 and basically said that young pitchers don’t know the difference between normal soreness after a start and injury soreness. LSU is keeping anyone out whose arm gets sore.

Ah, the arm soreness epidemic

I’ve heard every excuse in the book
As you said.. arm soreness after a start is one thing.. something else is going on if it’s been weeks and even months and they’re still out

Do we blame cpm for being too cautious? the medical staff for not evaluating an injury correctly? Travel ball? It’s getting old, very quickly

THIS^^^
Our staff is caving in to the player instead of reassuring him that its normal soreness.

The funny thing is the arm soreness thing never seems to happen to our crappy pitchers that get shelled every outing. Only the ones that are our back bone.

They were cautious last year with Labas and it wasn’t until he started throwing again in the fall, they realized rest wasn’t a cure. It sounds kinda dumb to go out there and throw until you medically can’t anymore, but sometimes that’s what you have to do. If Hill doesn’t start really throwing till next year and come to find out he needs Tommy John in October, that’s another year of development down the drain. Being overly cautious could ruin a career just as easy as pushing someone too hard.

A former pitcher but not LSU pitcher. He’s right too. My only issue with what’s going on for years is I dont seem to hear the same from other schools. Maybe they all have the same issues and we dont hear about it.
