There are tons of threads on this. One of them should be pinned.

That'd be quite the feat.

Not really. Probably the closest offense to ours in physical running style and their defense has hung in with the big boys for the most part. I think they either beat us or Ole Miss so I'm hoping for it to be Ole Miss.

I was there too, (I went with my brother in law, who is a Bama fan)and Bama did blow it. I am rooting for Auburn against Ole Miss not for how it benefits LSU, but because I dislike the Rebels almost as intensely as I do Bama.

I'm just not sold on them. I think the Alabama game was fluky. Bama didn't seem too organized, and then a week later they pounded an A&M team that needed overtime to beat Arkansas. Turnovers killed the Hogs against Georgia, but either way, it was 38-6 at the half.

There's no doubt in my mind that Bielema has them on the right track, but I'm not sold on them just yet. I'm more worried about LSU & Arkansas.

this is not the BCS formula,,, I do no think it will make a difference w 2 losses.
The committee WILL NEVER put 3 SEC teams..which IMHO is the purpose of having the committee....having said that....IF WE WIN OUT, I think that we might get a spot, otherwise, we are not going anywhere ..they will look elsewhere.

I need a consensus...if we can just win out we actually have a shot at the playoffs depending on sec west standings. What do we need to win the tiebreaker??

There are other, less likely, scenarios, but this is the most likely (still a long shot):
LINK

Win the West
Win the SEC
In the playoffs

I'm just hoping to beat Bama...

Auburn. And then after we beat Bama you have to pull for them to win out

I am not sure who to pull for but, I think Ole Miss wins at home

The west is so competitive that if we can just win out I like our chances of making the playoffs!

With 2-losses, we'll have to be conference champs. We would make a major (formerly BCS) bowl though.

Bama beats Aurburn and state
LSU wins out
4 way tie
LSU
State
Ole piss
Bama
LSU wins the tie breaker. Me thinks. I like to dream.

You got it. We need Auburn to win this one (so Ole Miss gets a second loss), but then lose 2 more so they finish with 3. We also need MSU to lose 2, most likely to Bama and Ole Miss. We don't need Bama to lose any more, as long as we win out.

But if Auburn beats Georgia and the rest of this scenario plays out, it's a 5-way tie with each team's record vs common opponents at 2-2. I'm not sure how the tiebreaker works at that point.

This would be a tough one to break. All tiebreakers would fail until you compare each team's East opponent records. Auburn will most likely win this tiebreaker due to being the only one of the 5 to play either UGA or Missouri. Because of this, Auburn will be harder to win a tiebreaker against than MSU.

"easy money"

"Ole Miss loses and drops to #15 or lower with 2 losses in a row."

I think you're wrong, my friend. Ole Miss will drop to 4.5 if they lose, and we will drop out of the rankings because of it.

Ole Miss is really beaten up after the LSU game. I think Auburn's offense will wear them down.

LSU beat the piss out of Ole Miss

Neither. Because a very convoluted series of events still has to occur even if Auburn wins.

Not rooting for any of them. Just hoping to see a good game.
