Do you think USC would beat Cal? Do you think UCLA can beat Cal??? Guess what their college name is?? Makes no since, why care?????
1. USC is a private school. Not in the UC system.
2. I don't care whether or not UCLA can beat Cal. It has no place in this argument.
3. QUIT MISSPELLING Sense.

Are yall fricking serious??? LSU is Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College.... Texas Longhorns are the University of Texas @ Austin, University of Tennessee @ Knoxville is the Tennessee Volunteers,
What you delusional pinheads from Oo-La-La refuse to grasp is that NO UNIVERSITY IN LOUISIANA HAS THE RIGHT TO USE THE NAME "UNIVERSITY OF LOUISIANA"! The state law that took effect in August of 1998 explicitly states any university in the Univ. of LA Board of Regents can change its name to "Univ. of LA @(insert city name)" but no univ. has exclusive claim to the name "Univ. of LA". ULL has no more claim to the name to "Univ. of LA" than does ULM, LA Tech, Grambling St. Univ., etc.
Your analogy to Univ. of TX or Univ. of TN is false. Both UTs were the original universities w/ branches established later like TX-El Paso & Tenn.-Martin. To refer to "UT-Austin" or "UT-Knoxville" is redundent. ULL was NOT established as the original campus of the UL system; The UL system was established many decades after its members were founded. This attempt to justify your delusions of grandeur fails completely.

There are two little things called "truth" & "adherence to the law". Look into them.

Hey LSUAMCOLLEGE MAN, Why are yall so butt hurt and think UL is trying to be a "Flagship" college? If yall are so mighty, why should it matter? I am not downing LSU, but jesus, it's like yall think we will steal your thunder... WTF??
It matters because ULL is trying to aspire past their bounds. They have no more claim to "University of Louisiana" than does McNeese or Nichols...and they scream at anyone to doesn't agree with them. Hell, there is a forum post on one of ya'lls boards bitching and insulting the media for daring to call you "ULL."
You morons always use the argument "why should you care," when the better question is why should you? If the name is meaningless, what difference does it really make?

Amen. The difference between LSU and UL Lafayette is that the SID of LSU doesn't have to send out a memo asking ESPN to call us LSU on the air. And for the times that we are called Louisiana State, I kind of like it.
Nobody would refer to us as LSU A&M because that's just dumb. Most state schools in the country are A&M schools. It would be redundant.
And as far as the penis envy remark, UL Lafayette is the guy running around giving himself a nickname to brag about his size. Who is the one with an issue here?

If true that is absolutely pathetic.

Hey stupid, when will you idiots learn to know your place? It's a simple thing, your pittiful athletic program/school is being discussed because that's the school we're playing this week. Besides that, nobody outside of St. Mary/Johnston St. gives a rats arse about usl-laffy laff! You idiots are consumed on a daily basis by what LSU does. Just look at your message boards and the usual "name battle cry" losers that post on those message boards and float around laffy!! You people just have to be reminded every once in a while where your place on the food chain is.
Here is one of many examples of why your school is viewed as a bottom feeder:

My suggestion is sports information director for a mid-major football program.
You make about $30,000 annually. The travel includes 50 events a year by bus or plane, covering 20,000 miles, and the cities are not New York or Los Angeles; think Moscow, Idaho, and Jonesboro, Ark. You work 12-hour days, designing, writing and editing press guides, releases, schedules, posters, to name a few of the duties.
And the worst thing is small schools have no money, not even for office supplies, so SIDs are forced to take the pens and paper from hotel rooms.

University of Louisiana-Lafayette sports information director

You can put as much lipstick on that pig in laffy but the end result is it's still a pig. (I apologize in advance to all of the pigs out there)
Just learn and remember to know your place and everything will be just fine.
Daddy is waiting to give you your allowance on Saturday!!

wow......this thread = :poop:
ULL is going to lose. Several of their key players will get beat'en up and the rest of their season will suffer because of it. Seriously.
All of this is nothing but nonsense.

This is asinine.
Shouldn't we always strive to be better than we currently are?
Shouldn't we all set goals that are impossible to reach?
Or should we just quietly accept mediocrity?
What you are suggesting is simply unamerican.

Sure, strive all you want to improve your school.
My point is that you'll never achieve flagship status, and that is the kind of title you want.
What is asinine is you taking my post out of context and responding with platitudes.

Its an auto correct feature. Just like if you use the n word or ginger.

But it's not correcting anything, it's making it wrong.
