What you delusional pinheads from Oo-La-La refuse to grasp is that NO UNIVERSITY IN LOUISIANA HAS THE RIGHT TO USE THE NAME "UNIVERSITY OF LOUISIANA"! The state law that took effect in August of 1998 explicitly states any university in the Univ. of LA Board of Regents can change its name to "Univ. of LA @(insert city name)" but no univ. has exclusive claim to the name "Univ. of LA". ULL has no more claim to the name to "Univ. of LA" than does ULM, LA Tech, Grambling St. Univ., etc.

Your analogy to Univ. of TX or Univ. of TN is false. Both UTs were the original universities w/ branches established later like TX-El Paso & Tenn.-Martin. To refer to "UT-Austin" or "UT-Knoxville" is redundent. ULL was NOT established as the original campus of the UL system; The UL system was established many decades after its members were founded. This attempt to justify your delusions of grandeur fails completely.

It matters because ULL is trying to aspire past their bounds. They have no more claim to "University of Louisiana" than does McNeese or Nichols...and they scream at anyone to doesn't agree with them. Hell, there is a forum post on one of ya'lls boards bitching and insulting the media for daring to call you "ULL."

You morons always use the argument "why should you care," when the better question is why should you? If the name is meaningless, what difference does it really make?
