Rayne and Crowley wouldn't improve all that much. Slightly. Lewis Cook is the difference there in Crowley. He proved that back in the early 90's also. Notre Dame gets players from all around that area. Church Point, Iota, Rayne, Crowley, Scott and the surrounding country side as well.
New Iberia would no doubt improve. We would all be playing in 5A also so the competition would be much better. I also don't think combining Eunice High and St Eds now would make all that much difference but back then we had some real athletes at both schools. St Eds had some huge dudes on their football teams back then that were very fast and just smart, tough football players. I knew and know many of them.

I agree, that class was talked about while I was at school. Actually lots of people couldn't believe how bad Opelousas was not long after that. They just fell off the map. This whole area back then was tough. Eunice, Crowley, Opelousas, and Jennings.
