Any Bama fan that thinks he won't bolt to the NFL doesn't know Saban, Sexton will cash in one day after his Bama run and either Bama will pay NFL money or he'll try it one more time before he retires.
No buyout=anybody coming in and making an attempt to sweep him out of t-tow with a straight face.

Honestly, this thread is more about a changing historical perspective on LSU football. In 2007, every LSU fan was defending Miles and tearing down Saban's work at LSU (myself included). I'm thinking that that is going to change and we are going to see the past decade in a different light. Yes, it is about Saban, but it really is more about our view of LSU football from 2000-2009.

I don't think LSU fans are giving Miles enough credit. He won the BCS 3 years after Saban left. Saban won the BCS at Bama 3 years after Mike Shula was fired. I don't hear anyone saying that Saban won the BCS with Shula's players. Seems like a double standard to give Saban so much credit for LSU's BCS championship in '07.
Saban will never have a better season in college football than he had in 2009 and he knows it. Bama was 14-0, Ingram won the Heisman and they won the BCS. He will be damn lucky to ever equal that record and probably never will. I suspect he will move on from Bama before Miles leaves LSU. Nick Saban has a history of being addicted to the next challenge. The leopard isn't likely to change his spots.

I think that 10-20 years from now, we will see Saban as the Paul Dietzel of this era and Miles as the Charley Mac when it comes to looking back on the late 50's and 60's.
Yep. 100% correct, except that Miles probably isn't as good as Charley Mac was.

not aware this is happening......

We will be left with the fact that Miles' early success was a direct result of Saban
so Saban's success was a direct result of Denardo???????

We will give Saban more credit for it that we presently do, in my opinion.
your opinion sucks......

I agree with most of your assessment except I didn't turn on Saban for going to our conference rival, Alabama. I was angry at him that he did so, but I still gave him his props for turning the program into a respected winner.
I didn't downgrade his coaching or recruiting abilities but I didn't pull for Bama to win either. I could care less about his personality. It is what it is. I'd take him back in a heartbeat. At least with Saban you know he has a proven gameplan for the program. I can't say this about Miles nor do I venture to believe he would know how to put one in place.

You don't have to participate in it. Plenty of threads. Find another one

I can't speak for everyone, but I don't hate Saban. I think he gets a lot of flack because so many people on this board (much like the media) spend so much time gushing over him. It's lame, annoying, and completely hackneyed. We get it. You love Saban. You hate Miles. You wish Saban had never left, and now it hurts to watch him have so much success at Bama.
Get over it. Miles is our coach. I only care about Saban when we play Bama, or when someone else is playing Bama and I need the game to end in a way that gets LSU into the SECCG. Otherwise, we have our own program, staff, schedule, and proud legacy to worry about.
Saban has been gone for 6 years. Most of us who "hate" him would never mention him if fans on this board didn't start 4-6 Saban threads per day.

Saban was not that well loved when he was here. He was a jerk to many reporters and boosters. He was always tense and whiny. After he had those last two seasons we were thinking that he had done all he could do and was losing control. He then left in an extremely disrespectful way. When he left he was still regarded as a good coach but kind of an attention seeking head case. I, for one, didn't think he would ever coach another national championship team, that's for sure.

Alabama did not have a holding penalty for 38 qtrs. that is BS

Also the least penalized team in the ncaa.

Your post is a pretty significant change in attitude. I read posts on here day after day in 2007 and 2008 by people like you stating vehemently all of the reasons why Saban wouldn't have the same success at Bama that he had at LSU. It was all nonsense. I think it was mostly wishful thinking.
What happened was Saban has somewhat redeemed himself and proved again to be the coach many knew he was/is deep down inside. For the first time in a long time, Alabama is a program that is to be respected, in my opinion.
I do miss the intensity and the hardcore approach. I wish I could sense that intensity and approach from our multimillion dollar coaching staff, but I don't think it exists.

He's a good coach, but I don't like him. If he wins another NC with Bama, he's gonna go back to the NFL, count on it.

I think Nick pretty much soiled his NFL diaper in Miami.
There's much to admire about his coaching ability. WIshed Les/Chavis would learn a few things. Just because you didn't invent the wheel doesn't mean you can't make a better one.

using computer ip addresses i have found that most of the ranturds on this rant are fans of saban and pull for alabama to beat the shite out of miles.
most of the ranturds lost their manlove virginity to saban and will always love him, even if they are both screwing someone else.
