GA tickets are easy to get($9.00), but you have to stand in line for a long time to get in.SEATS ARE FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE.
For reserve tickets(best price and best seats) google Omaha ticket exchange. Barrets Barley-corn is a fantastic LSU bar.
Have been to CWS 12 times!!!

Is it worth the $$$ to stay downtown or is fine staying 5-10 miles away and taking a cab/uber to the games?

Use Prime Sports.
Be patient. Picked up some tickets this morning 4 rows behind the LSU dugout for $25.

We stayed @ the Airport Hampton Inn last weekend. It's actually in Iowa, but only about 1.5 miles from the stadium. Seems to be very new. Booked it for $150 a night, but it went up about $30 right after the game was over.
