a strength and conditioning coach Josh Robertson told me while having lunch in Johnson city Tn where he is from.
You are saying that our assistant strength and conditioning coach told you that Armanti will be out for the season....
meanwhile he practiced with full pads today and had an interview on espn's college football live yesterday.
I call bullshite.

Actually it doesn't annoy me...I was just curious because it made no sense...

You make a good point...especially with some of the posters on here...
Wouldn't a strength and conditioning coach be at practice...when did you have lunch with him Phideaux?

On the issue of whether or not a I-AA (FCS) team can have a player at an individual position who can be as good as or better than a player at that position on the BCS league team:
Matt Flynn, Chevis Jackson, Early Doucet, and Keith Zinger were all drafted at their positions after I-AA players were drafted. Additionally, you have things like Ali Highsmith not being drafted while two I-AA linebackers were.
Recruiting is not a perfect science. While it's clear that BCS leauge teams have the highest overall talent levels, you can't assume that there are ZERO players that could play at that level in realms other than I-A. With that I'll mention a few more players:
Darrell Green: NAIA
Joe Delaney: I-AA
Phil Sims: II
Ken Anderson: III
Wille Brown: II
Mel Blount: II
Anais Williams : I-AA
Mark Duper: I-AA
Bobby Hebert: I-AA
Gary Reasons: I-AA
Doug Williams: I-AA
Stan Humphries: I-AA
I'm going to quit thinking about it now. But the bottom line is that the idea that a player can't be "top level" because he plays in a classification other than I-A (FBS) is absurd.

You think? When did he think he would get this chance? RP would start, then Jefferson and Shepard
I'm pretty sure neither Jefferson nor Shepard had been recruited at the time Hatch walked on..definitely not Shepard. With Flynn graduating he could have been in the mix for a few snaps even with RP here. I agree with you that he probably didn't imagine he would start when he first arrived, but if you listen to his interviews he is competitive, as any quarterback should be. He won a state championship in HS and was recruited by Crowton at BYU, a school that knows a thing or two about good quarterbacks. We'll see how things pan out but the kid is not chopped liver. Get past the Harvard thing and he has alot to offer as a QB and alot of room for improvement. Armanti Edwards was a 0 star recruit, why can't Hatch blossom into a very good QB?
Sorry, a little off topic.....to the original post, as of kickoff on Aug. 30 Armanti Edwards will be the most proven QB on the field. After that, we'll just have to see how the game unfolds.

AE could play Div1 ball for alot of schools.
Who says Lee/Hatch/JJ couldn't? This QB thing sticks in my craw (proverbial) due to the fact that people make judgements on LSU's QB's and have no clue how good they are. I don't. If someone has imperical evidence to the contrary, I would love to see it.
