don't know did your sons peewee football team beat a team that was higher ranked than LSU last season

No, and neither did Appy State. They beat Michigan who finished the year ranked 18 and 19 in the two major polls. Additionally, Michigan was not NEAR the team that LSU is (size, speed, instinct, athletisim, etc).

Did they beat a team that had more Heisman candidates on it, than LSU has had in a decade

Well, yes, if my sons team gets to count "Heisman candidates" the same way Appy State does (i.e. the same way Ole Miss counts National Championships).

Pat White, the most dangerous quarterback in the nation, one of the fastest players nationwide, Fiesta Bowl MVP.

Doesn't matter the accolades the two have amassed because Armanti Edwards of Appalachian State is better than both of them. They can't hold his jock.

IMO Edwards is basically a Pat White. White is nothing special. He is a college running QB. Lot of guys could do what he does playing in that offense, INCLUDING EDWARDS.

Now Tebow...nobody compares to that guy.

Appalachian wanted to stay in the SoCon (the conference that spawned the SEC and the ACC) so we agreed to go into the lower division (after the NCAA said that that lower division would have really good television broadcasts....didn't turn out that way.)

Don't act like App State was in the SoCon in the 20s and early 30s when it was actually a good conference...because they WEREN'T. YES the Southern Conference (which grew out of the preceeding SIAA) contained nearly all the current SEC and ACC schools....but all of those teams abandoned the conference in favor of the SEC and ACC in the 19-freakin-30s!

App State joined this nearly defunct conference in 1971.

Had to spend some time looking up that info on microfiche didn't ya? We're not delusional...just enjoying our 15 minutes of fame that took 100 years to get....I mean this could be our only chance to talk smack to the big boys.

I didn't need to "look up" the fact that App State wasn't in the original powerhouse conferences.

Yeah, I looked up the year they joined the conference.

In case you forgot, App St hung in there with LSU with JR and the best team never to win the national championship.

hardly.

The 2005 team was great, but it was not as good as the 2006 or 2007 version of LSU Tigers.

This argument sounds like the 'French'. They 'mess with us' until we react, and then blame our reaction on insecurity. They then feel really good about themselves for stirring up a reaction. Oh well. When you get down to BR I think you'll see that people will be very cordial (most of them) and that we just like to support our TIGERS. Remember though....Saying something negative about the TIGERS is just like talking about someone's MOTHER. It's hard not to react.

The peewee football team argument was weak.

Excuse me but how is losing 24-0 hanging in there?

Y’all hung around on the field

Y’all hung around on the sidelines

Y’all hung around in locker room

But the scores indicates y’all didn’t hang at all!

Catt

You obviously weren't at the game.....Go read the local papers for the view from LSU homers.

There is only one statistic that counts, the score board; LSU: 24 Appalachian State: 0

Why is hard for Appalachian State fans to accept?
