Lawrence fumbles and the rules guy chimes in, saying “just having a hand on the ball doesn’t mean he has possession.” Thus, saying it’s a fumble and he isn’t down just because he’s touching it.

Isn’t that what happened against A&M in 2018? Mond fumbled the snap, touched it with one hand and his knee was down, his knee lifts and he picks up the ball, and then throws a pick?

Was there a rule change between then and now?

He gripped the ball to pick it back up, thus regaining control.

Yes, and wondering why they are trying to make Lawrence a running QB.

Worse call in that game was the catch and fumble that Delpit caused. fricking abortion of a game. Easily Dave Arandas worst performance ever as well.

Wouldn’t try to apply logic to anything that happened in the 2018 7OT shite show. We won that game. More than once. Then smashed some atm arse in 2019

Wrong. Lawrence had more control than Mond did.

Matt Austin’s last game. fricked up every review so ESPN brings him on as a “rules expert” and he sucks at it.

Did he? He had his hand on it, then lifted up and secured the ball.

How does one determine “gripping” versus “having his hand on it”?

Rules are made each game depending on who’s playing.

Certainly wouldn’t be the first time a rule was changed after LSU was affected
