Yep.

I can really go either way with the Flynn/Jamarcus arguments. I do think Jamarcus infuriated me more often and Flynn had the excuse of a gimpy ankle. He did make his fair share of poor throws. Lee's poor throws just happen to get picked and returned for touchdowns. I think if he progresses through his reads more thoroughly in the future he'll stop throwing to his primary in coverage and the picks will stop.

You guys are killing me here. Come on, not once have I called you stupid. Thanks.

All I have said, is Hatch is dual threat, not pro-style. Lee doesn't run well. I am not sold on him yet. I think he is a rookie and makes freshman mistakes. And I don't like the two QB system. Lots of people don't like the two QB system.

Geez, guys, give a girl a break.

Who is not supporting Lee? I'm supporting Lee. If Lee happens to read this, I would like for him to work on not throwing off of his back foot and not locking onto the first read. I would like for him to realize that the most important thing a QB can do is not throw and interception. The second most important thing is to not take a sack. The third most important thing to do is to protect the ball if the sack is inevitable. With his skill, if he has these goals in mind, he will cut down on mistakes. He'll still throw great passes to OPEN receivers and he'll cut down on interceptions that hurt the team.

I support Jarrett Lee. I want him to be an All-American some day. But it doesn't mean we need to cut off all constructive criticism of him and just shrug and say, oh well, redshirt freshman, what do you expect. Dude he's the starting QB for the defending national champions.

He is, IMO, calmer in the pocket

Did you get a chance to watch our 1st 3 games, Appy St, UNT, and Auburn.

Hatch almost NEVER lets a route develop. He takes the snap, drops back, sets his feet, then immediately tucks and runs the ball.

He is playing about as good as Flynn did last season. Check the numbers.

They are really not giving Hatch a chance

You think if he would have put up 250 yards passing, and 3 TDs against against Appy St and North Texas, he would have lost his starting job?

No way. But he was very mediocre against those 2 teams.

THAT was his chance, and he didn't make the most of it.

The criticism as I see it, is that he has fallen into a patern of telegraphing the short out pass. I like his progress, but this needs to be fixed against Georgia.

I assume you are bumping this thread cause you think you're right about Hatch. Hatch may not have thrown those picks, but we don't come close to scoring 38 with Hatch as our starting QB. And our defense still gives up a ton of points.

I like bringing in Hatch in some running situations, but he is not a better QB than Lee.

I know he is not a better QB, I am saying he is a good place holder during a rebuilding year, until Lee is ready.

Right now, Lee is in a situation where people are blaming him for losses and since he is young, this will crush his confidence. Miles is doing him a disservice by continuing to throw him into a situation is in incapable of handling.

Anyone at the game can tell you the first interception was due to him staring at LaFell so long that a rookie defender read the route. He gave away the play.

Matt Flynn was not a stud QB, Matt Mauck was not a stud QB...who did we win the Crystal trophy with?

And for the dude, that said I had a mancrush...I am a female, so that is okay.

The only way they get better is to play. Watching from the sidelines will not help Lee. Many good QBs today looked as bad or worse their first year. Stafford looked horrible his first year and now look at him.

I'm not sure if Lee is our future, but he's the guy the gives us the best chance of winning this year.

Maybe not..but they could throw the ball 35 to 40 yards downfield without the help of a catapult. Hatch on the otherhand...cant.

This is the perfect year to throw Lee into the fire. This was always gonna be a rebuilding year...just like last year was a rebuilding year for Florida...which went 9-4 I believe while their young defense made many a mistake.

The one thing I would like to say to J Lee would be ..."Son..if you are always gonna throw to the first option receiver no matter what, could you at least look to the other side of the field for a second to freeze/confuse the linebackers/safeties?"

I couldn't agree more. Lee has a quick release, and has a really strong arm, plus when he is calm, he is really accurate. He has all the makings to be an NFL QB. When he's good, he's really good, but when he's bad, it's 7 points the other way.

His problem is that he is a Freshman quarterback playing in a conference with outstanding defenses, and even better coaches. They, opposing defenses, know that all they have to do is put enough pressure and any Freshman QB will eventually make a mistake.

Let the kid earn his stripes, he and the tigers will be better for it.

How is Lee gonna improve? ...by sitting on the bench watching a High School QB try to lead the team to a 9-4 record? good idea.

I said fine. Rebuilding year. Fine. 9-4. Losing to Alabama no matter which QB plays. Our defense is truly the problem.

Fine. Lee plays, whatever.
