it must have been really tough for USCw/Lakers homer Shelley Smith to get on a flight to BR with Dwight being traded to the Lakers yesterday

Fans are not mad at Miles.

He has to maintain leadership on this team. Allowing TM7 to remain on the team via covering up his problems would lead this team down a road towards internal destruction.

I heard some asshat on WWL bitching that Les shouldn't have suspended JJ and shouldn't have released TM. It was all race card and that the MAN is just keeping TM down.

So racism caused JJ (and Johns) to stomp that guy's head in, and it was racism that caused Mathieu to do his best "Cheech and Chong" impersonation?

Some people are just so dumb they shouldn't be allowed out in public, should never have children and never be allowed to vote.

or the kind of person that views LSU as a pro football franchise and thinks miles controls all rules in the football program. they seem to forget about the university and it's role in maintaining "institutional control".

Just a few minutes ago ESPN said LSU fasn were pissed at Miles for releasing TM. Did I miss something yesterday. I thought most fans understood what happened and supported Miles. But then again this is ESPN and they do hate some LSU.
Late yesterday afternoon I was reading nola.com and they had a poll going if Les did the right thing - at 5:30pm it was 92% yes and 8 no.

I think a couple retards opined that if Les had disciplined TM in an more effective manner, this would not have happened.

You know, the 20/20 hindsight vision crew.

Plus, the head football coach at LSU will alwaysssssss have someone upset with him.

As much as I loved watching TM7 and wish him the best, Coach Miles seems as fair and level headed as any coach in play right now.

I support Coach Miles.

This had to be a very difficult decision he made.
Any fans that think 1 players is above the team have no clue about college sports.

You're right....he would've gotten a one game suspension and then put in in the 2nd half

actually he wouldn't have been punished at all under saban and no one would have known about the drug test. all you have to do is look at d. james from 02 to see how saban handles these things.

I'm not mad at les. I like the way he handled the
situation. He treats his players like young men and
trust them to be responsible adults on their spare
time. Some people mature and learn ( ware and Simon)
some don't (mathieu). Les had to step in and lay
down the law.

I believe Les is getting too much credit and blame for this. Robert Smith said Les should get kudos for doing what nearly every other coach with a player like TM would never do. What's missing in this viewpoint is that in the post-Sandusky era, college administrators are becoming less tolerant of any behavior that sheds a bad light on their athletic departments. Coaches must tow the line in this regard no matter how much they may plead their star players' case.

On the other hand, those blaming Miles for not doing enough to change TMs behavior are wrong as well. If you think about it, with over 100 players on his team, to have only a few stray from the beaten path is a credit to him.

Much more disappointment in Tyrann than anger at Les.

Anyone going off on Miles over this is usually someone who doesn't like him to begin with and this is an opportunity to bash a little.
