I guess i'm one of the old fellas that remember when ARky first came into the league and we could never beat them and then remember Matt Jones marching down the field against Saban in a prevent defense and throwing for a TD in the waning seconds so I definitely am happy with the win.

I am satisfied with the win. It keeps them in the hunt for a 10 win season. Most critics like this never played football or any meaningful snaps

Without Etling, LSU may not have 7 wins. Go out on the field. You would pee all over yourself

The team is good Dusty Dumbass. Go out on the field and get knocked on your arse

Arkansas has always been a pesky thorn in LSU's side=always play the Tigers tough. It'd a good win!!!

The only gripe about yesterday is Etlings inability to consistently make the most basic throws to wide open receivers and poor tackling in the middle of the game.
Overall a solid performance.

Etling threw for over 200 yards and 2 touchdowns at a completion percentage over 60% and people are shitting on him. Miles has lost to bad Arkansas teams before so I'm happy with the win. Some people are never satisfied.

Glad we won by the margin we did, but how we got there inspired me to go back over the season and look at the distribution of points scored per quarter. Wasn't sure what I was looking for, but here our are current numbers.
LSU Points Scored by Quarter:
1st 2nd 3rd 4th (Opponent)
0 14 6 7 (BYU)
14 14 14 3 (Chattanooga)
0 7 0 0 (Miss State)
7 7 14 7 (Syracuse)
0 0 7 14 (Troy)
7 3 7 0 (Florida)
0 14 0 13 (Auburn)
10 3 17 10 (Ole Miss)
0 3 7 0 (Alabama)
7 0 12 14 (Arkansas)

We were bailed out by Arky being as bad as we thought and leaving Chark open a couple times, and they suck at defense. Anyone could have hit those open Chark shots, it should have been anyone else.

Yep. It was Etling also. He kept us from at least two more touchdowns and we had one drop in the end zone
That’s how passing games work. He threw for 217 yds on 69% of his attempts. What more can you really ask for.

Positives
The defense continues to move towards what we expected and come closer to what we had last year.
More and more of the offense is being slowly installed, routes are becoming more complimentary to each other and the running game. WRs are finally understanding there's more to the position than running a pattern and hoping you get the ball.
Both sides of the ball showed "killer instinct". The offense just didn't execute it. But they were not flat. And they did try to go for weakness and exploit opportunities.
OL is improving in baby steps in certain, well... most, aspects. Handling DL fans (i.e. slanting or sliding of DL) much much better. They are recognizing it pre-snap and aren't getting caught with bad angles. Worth noting that what I think was Brumfield's first holding call was this game; yes, that's a positive. He's the real anchor of that OL.
Negatives
Frankly, the offense is limited by personnel. And not just Etling, but yes he is a major one. It's a hump they can not get over despite Canada trying to will it with playcalling.
Slow starts continue on offense.
Some deficiencies in coverage are now available on film and teams are attacking our safeties. Delpit needs to take the next step in recognition and be aware of when he's primary and when he's supposed to be help. It's a little bit of trying to do too much. No coincidence that his play seemingly (not in reality) regressed when Donte was moved off of X receiver. Teams were avoiding him, so Delpit had less responsibilities.
OL still struggles, mightily, with loops, delays, and stunts. This is very disappointing but isn't anything new.
I was disappointed in the game overall from a self-scouting perspective. There were obvious fixes that need to be made and a bad Arky team was a chance to fix them. They missed on a couple of those.
From an overall, non-scouting, perspective I was pretty happy. Coming out in the 2nd half and completely changing the tone of the game keeps me happy and the confidence level above average. If sleepwalking (which they weren't), it gets corrected. They came out somewhat embarrassed by the halftime score and got it done in convincing fashion. Can't complain about that.

Happy we won but can't say I am impressed. Remember, we played Arky.
