You come to the Rant to say you have student season tickets but decided to use your bathroom at home instead of going to the home opener...and you expect less than what you've gotten!? You're not a shitty fan...because you're not even a fan yet!

Seriously, you were here...there was no reason to go evacuate, much less go home. You're going to make a 10 hour drive back Sunday...you might as well make it on Friday and make the game. Don't come here whining...you will get zero sympathy.

As for the wedding dude...some friend of mine went to a wedding last week. The bride (UGA), the groom...LSU...said it was the "last weekend" they could have the wedding. The female friend asked why. FOOTBALL SEASON. They got it. No weddings during the season, unless it's a Friday night.

This.

There are two things that you don't want to be around me for: 1. not having my coffee in the morning, and 2. having to work during and/or miss an LSU football game.

I used to never miss, made most road games.

Now with kids and wife its just not as important to me anymore.
Not to mention the taxes LSU has put on fans for tailgating and parking, plus I dont live in BR anymore.. financially its just not worth it to me to come down and watch a beatdown of some glorified high shcool team and we have plenty of them on the schedule this year.

Just assume to stay home play golf and watch on tv,, have a tailgate at my house or a friends.

Ill be there for bama, usc, wash and OM.. prob go to Au.

Agree.

I live in ATL and I am not going, BUT I am not a student, and my son has a game tonight.

Even with that, I feel bad about not being there. Not guilty, but just a little sick inside.

I'll probably be watching by myself at BWW so I can watch us and the BAMA game simultaneously. And when I say by myself I really mean I'll be shooting the shite with some random LSU fan I'm sure.

U are going to miss an LSU game for a wedding? U are surely pussy whipped! U would not fit in my family. U would be drummed out of the core!

Road. Trip. Now.

It's Friday ...there is still time to kiss the family good bye, dump one in your personal toilet and get on the road back to BR and make the game.

If you feel bad now..you will feel 10 times worse tomorrow.

Do It.

One measure of consolation (for the rest of us) is that as I understand it, when a student has tickets and doesn't attend, they lose priority points for getting tickets, etc.

It's North Texas. You aren't missing much.

Even if one should feel this way, he shouldn't come onto the Tiger Rant and admit to it!!

That's what I'm saying. I'm not missing Alabama here or even a conference game.

I was already in Dallas for a concert, heard classes got canceled - so I just drove 3 hours home instead of 7 back to LSU right after the show. Been here ever since and decided to stay since Monday is Labor Day anyway. It was a perfect storm of events that allowed me to be at home a little longer - I'll be at LSU the rest of the year, plus I'll have 7 other games to go to.

Trust me, if this wasn't NORTH TEXAS and I wasn't already conveniently at home (10 hours away) - I'd be there no doubt.

You guys are making me feel worse...which I expected, so good job.

Also: I'll be at fricking Towson and Idaho...so suck it.

Good. You deserve it. Your excuses sound worse every time you post them.

I can't imagine missing the home opener as my first game as a student.

Even though other circumstances had you 10 hours away already PLUS it's North Texas and it probably won't be full attendance? I doubt this will be the TRUE Tiger Stadium experience, even others on this board have said so.

But yeah, they are terrible "excuses".

Anyway, I did sell my ticket to a fellow student so someone will be in my place at least.

"It's North Texas!" is not an excuse. Ever.

It's LSU football.

Good point. But in this case, for me to rush back down to the state when I can stay home for a little bit longer doesn't outweigh the fact I'd go to a game where the entire stadium will be disengaged after 2 possessions. That's what I mean when I say "It's North Texas."

I drove my car back home. I have a 10 hour drive ahead of me come Monday. I'm just milking my time with family/friends/personal bathroom as much as I can before I go back to campus for the next 5 months at least. I'm not just sitting in the dorm and skipping for no reason!

1. Your family, etc will be there when there isn't a game in TS.
2. Personal bathroom? Why is that more important?

Don't go overboard. You live in BR.

But the OP is a student so he deserves a rant castration. Although he sounds like he's missing one nut already.
