I'm an out-of-state lifelong LSU fan who now attends and I got the full season student package. I was looking forward to the opener because it would be my FIRST LSU game, and it would be the damn season opener.

Long story short, I was in Dallas for a concert when I heard classes were canceled so I just drove a few more hours to go back home to Oklahoma. Then classes were canceled today, and I only have one class on Friday so I said frick it - I'll stay home for the next four days and sacrifice going to the opener.

I feel bad about missing it, but I do know I will be there for the other 7 games. That's my only consolation. I kinda feel like a shitty fan...

Yeah I'm not going either. It more than likely will be a shitty game even though it's the debut of Jesus Mettenberger Christ.

I'll be watching on my laptop while watching the Bama-Michigan game.

I figured I can get a feel for the team and watch them first on TV - then be there next week for a pretty decent/good team in Washington.

The whole weather thing dampens it a tad - the stadium won't be full capacity, it is North Texas, and I am back home for a little bit before leaving for the next 5 months. I think I'm making the best decision, but damn, ditching LSU on their season opener just makes me feel dirty.

I drove my car back home. I have a 10 hour drive ahead of me come Monday. I'm just milking my time with family/friends/personal bathroom as much as I can before I go back to campus for the next 5 months at least. I'm not just sitting in the dorm and skipping for no reason!

What kind of B-Shyt is this...#1 rule of a college football fan NO GETTING/GOING to weddings between August 30 and January 10...#2 NO having any BABIES during this same period...this time of the season is for making them only!

youre going to regret it. you only get 7 to 8 times a year to go to games in tiger stadium. before you blink the season will be over. youre also screwed next year for getting any away games due to missing a home game.

you should not be allowed to go to another game. If you're a student and you buy tickets, by missing one you should forfeit the rest of your tickets.

so I said frick it

you said that to LSU, the football program, and the economy of Louisiana.

I enjoyed that game. 41-17 I think?

My first game was a loss to aTm sometime in the early 90s during Hallman. The first game I really remember was Bring Back the Magic game against AU. That's when I really became a fan bc before then I was all about the Saints.

I understand you "feel bad" about not going to the LSU opener, even though you're an LSU student, and an alleged "lifelong LSU fan". Well, you should. You are a disgrace to the LSU fanbase, and you should have your tickets, and your eligibility as a student revoked.

But seriously,

The semester just started and you're already homesick?
