Say what you want about me, I can care less. You're the one that started this ridiculous thread.
You said something about it not sinking in, I'm just saying it didn't sink in for you. I have no problem with trash talking given it is done discretly like so many of our ex-players have done it. PP7, Hester, Chad Jones and so many more So why was it never an issue before and it is now? The answer is we're overdoing it. After every other play our guys are jabbering away - even when we don't make a play. It looks stupid.
It isn't intimidating when it is done this much - it looks thuggish especially on TV. ESPN had a clip on our trash talking pre-game. I know its a game, and a tough one at that which I enjoy as well. But how many teams have you seen get called out on their trash talking like we do? I don't know of any right now and I watch quite a bit of CFB. I don't want that to be our identity. Like I
Like several other posters have posted in this thread - do we need to take it this far? Our play is good enough where we don't need to. This was my only point.

Tyrann Mathieu has SPECIFICALLY SAID that they probably could tone it down a bit and that they dont want to get flagged by the SEC officials and hurt the team.
So with that being said, why are you still complaining?
Les SPECIFICALLY SAID HE DOESN'T MIND IT

I agree. It is a little overdone. They need to reign it in a little.
All I am saying. Shouldn't be this excessive.

Nobody on the team talks half the trash that Laron Landry did and Les didn't have a problem with it then and doesn't now, that's good enough for me. People are complaining about it now because there's nothing else to complain about until sometime Wednesday when all hell may break loose.

PP7 admitting that he was the biggest trash talker when he was here. nobody had a problem when he did it. it's a part of football. if you want to see real trash talk, go to your local high school game friday night. way more trash talking goes on in high school ball. it happens at every level of the game. if you can back it up, i really don't care.

We'll have to see it to believe it I guess. Also, there's plenty of people here who don't think it needs to be toned down and that excessive taunting is what football is about which is what the debate is about. This is a message board where people have opposing viewpoints - so quit with the caps lock BS. Express your opinion if you want but there is a basis for the damn thread.

Did Laron and the rest of the secondary gather together on the field pre-game and taunt the opposition? Was the clip of this happening shown during the game? Or talked about in the media? Trash talking wasn't the identity of that team. Also, Laron never did it after giving up a 1st down or getting burned.
Again, nothing wrong with trash talking - but being called the trash talking secondary isn't a moniker I want our team to have.

I imagine the younger you are the more you approve of trash talking, older posters remember that relic from the past called 'sportsmanship'.
Ghetto manners don't make you a better athlete.

I'm with you. If given the choice, I would rather avoid "The U" comparisons.

He actually did this all the time and still does in the NFL.
He stands there with his hands on his hips. Or stays on the turf after Brandon Jacobs trucks him. Certainly doesn't talk after getting burned.

Wrong again. I am all for sportsmanship. I love seeing the other team pick up the opposing teams players or congratulations/handshakes after the game.
But have you ever talked to any athlete? Heard a modern day athlete talk? It's not a boy scout meeting out there.

He's stood over the receiver/running back, posed, and talked shite to him after pretty much every tackle he's made since his freshman year.

Did you notice that this was not shown in a negative light either but in fact showing that they are a mean group who plays with alot of confidence and swag.
They're taunting the WRs as they warm. They're a mean arse secondary and they believe it. How is this bad?

Really? This is what you got out of it? I just saw a bunch of guys taunting a guy in pre-game practice - unprovoked at that. It wasn't a positive picture by any means. That's my opinion.

As an outside observer I will say that the officials will be waiting for "TM7" after watching last games film. He pushed the limit all game and there are some flags in his future. JMO
