This defense is basically Bo's! Same issues from last year are still there. Nothing has changed with Pallory.

I was never a big fan of Pelini. An arrogant and pompous a-hole who had great talent around him to cover up a shitty scheme.

However he did have the brain power to tweek the scheme. These two numbnut lack the brain power thus we are getting arse raped despite top shelf talent.

Yes. But I don't think we need to get our hopes up for him to return as DC, if ever. But what he did with defense/or with Saban, is something we can miss and wish for and realistically expect to return: Excellence, competitiveness, knowledge of fundamentals and execution, aggressive play, intimidating and unmoving, confident defensive football. The kind that is LSU's trademark, or was...

Not really. I miss the style of Saban's defenses from '02-'04. I do not miss sabn, though.

Bo had a good year in '06; I would say the other two were pretty average.

Not really. His D was soft against everyone but Bama last year. He was just working with seasoned corners. While he is no doubt exponentially better as a D Coordinator than Miles' sandlot buddies, he wasn't scheming the aggressive, attacking style of D that we've seen in the past. I said the same thing in a post earlier this year, prior to the season starting, and got flamed by YellowShoe and Chimlin. But it's true. We were giving up a lot of yards/points to teams last year...just not as rapidly. Oh, and we were winning those close games, too, so it was just SFP and a handful of others who were saying we got problems on D.

'Bama last year, was a game I watched that I thought "man, this is great defense." Only reason that game was close is offensive mistakes. And of course, said attacking style of D won that game in the last seconds.

We are hurting for quality LBs and DBs-recruiting has suffered in this area for the last three years and it does not look like it will be any better this year. Beckwith was the highest rated linebacker in the last three years. Same goes for DB other than signing patterson last year.
