He is out a while. I’m betting a sprain that’ll keep him out a month or more. If it was torn they would have said he was out the rest of the year I think.

Per this less-than descriptive NOLA.com article, MRI came back negative for a tear.

That's a relief.

From the article:

quote:

LSU guard Garrett Brumfield is out for Saturday's game (Sept. 29) against Ole Miss with a knee injury, Ed Orgeron announced Monday. Brumfield's MRI came back negative for a tear in the left knee, sources told NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune. Orgeron said they are unsure of his return. Orgeron said tackles Saahdiq Charles and Adrian Magee are both questionable for Saturday.

He said it with Chaisson so you have to believe that either Brumfield still hasn't had an MRI or he has and it's not a season ending injury. Hope the latter...

Is Charles injured or suspended?

I thought that Magee would be back for Ole Miss. We will definitely need both of these guys back for the Florida game.

Article says he's "questionable," so I take that to mean injured. I could be wrong, however. And so could NOLA.com, for that matter.

It's time to just be thankful that Ole Miss has an atrocious defense

Negative MRI and no tear.

That is huge news. Will be back this season.

It's a match up of the worst offense in the SEC versus the worst defense. Hopefully we can score some points off turnovers, because the last thing we need is to get into a shoot out with them.

Our defense will be better at stopping their offense than their defense will be at stopping ours. We can play smart and win.

Does anyone know specifically what Charles’ injury is and when it may have occurred at auburn? Or maybe it happened in practice?

And, don’t know if it was discussed but looking back at the winning field goal at auburn, an LSU lineman looked to be on the ground in pain while everyone was running off celebrating and the auburn team was walking back to their sideline.

I could only tell it was a 60-something jersey number. Looked to possibly be the left guard or left tackle. Does Brumfield play guard on FG attempts? It was probably him if so.

Why don't our o-line wear knee braces, like so many other teams do. It helps to prevent these type of injuries. I would think all o-lineman should wear these.

You’re right. For some reason I thought he was a 60 number. So I’m wondering who that was then. Does Lewis play left guard on fgs?

Eta: Nevermind, I just rewatched it. It was Lewis. And it looked like he got hurt from the guy that jumped off our backs falling on him. I guess it wasn’t that serious since he played this past week.
