quote:No. No, Hester did not say anything like that.
he essentially said LSU needs to win 10 games or there could be a change
He did say:
quote:He did talk about conference expectations, and that one might wonder why, with so much talent in the NFL, LSU hasn't won a NC since 2007. But he never mentioned anything about how there could be a change. In particular, he never said that LSU needs to win 10 games or there could be a change.
It might be a little unfair, some the pressure he’s under. His record is like 103 and 29, or something crazy like that, so he’s won so many football games for LSU.
quote:No. Again, he did not say that.
he believes Les should name a starter now
He said:
quote:He wishes it would happen, but he didn't say that Miles should name a starter. More importantly, Hester went on about why Miles cannot name a starter yet:
I wish that they would go ahead and name a quarterback down there.
quote:
I wish that they would go ahead and name a quarterback down there. I think it’d be better for LSU if they went ahead and named a starter.
Neither guy really took the horns in spring football. They both played well in the spring game, so it wasn’t a matter of them playing bad but neither of them took the job.
I think Brandon Harris is by far the more talented kid, but I think Anthony Jennings does what Les Miles likes: he gets the team lined up; he doesn’t have to call a timeout on third down. Cause look, they’re one of the few teams that still huddle in football, and that’s a key thing. They get them in and out of the huddle. Brandon Harris can’t do that right now, and that’s kind of weighing on Les Miles’ decision right now.
All in all, Hester sounded very supportive of Miles.

Well, we got one of two things here. A kid who thinks he knows it all but is actually clueless....or an adult that is intellectually challenged.
LSU has won 3 West Titles under Miles, 2 SEC Titles, 1 NC and played for another. You can criticize miles all you want, but when you say dumb shite like this, it lets us know just how truly ignorant you are. I would LOVE to win a NC and play for another during the next 8 years. Seriously, some real idiots on this site.

Miles is not the sharpest knife in the drawer
He has an economics degree from a top university....not like getting a physical education degree, idiot. He also makes multi millions a year....I'm pretty sure you can't compare in either of those categories....yet he's the dumb one.
quote:
And 05,06,07 he still managed to lose 2 games
With all that talent....yep....the ssme talent that Saban lost 3 games with in 2004 right....lmao. He won 11,11, and 12 games during those 3 years, going 34-6...winning 2 West Titles, 1 SEC and NC, and 3 bowl games....and you bitch about it.....what a fricking moron.
quote:
AND M ILES STILL COULDN'T WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP WITHOUT SABAN'S PLAYERS AND JIMBO FISHERS QB
His players were Juniors that year....but that was Saban's players right? Just like when Bama won in 2009 that was Shula's players?
Les had a better team in 2011....unfortunately Bama had one of its best teams ever as well.

I get the impression that Miles is a year or two from retirement. Less than ten wins could move him to step down after next season but there's zero chance he gets fired.

Amazing! There are probably 5-6 posters in this entire thread who actually listened to the interview...

Hester told it like the rational LSU fan does. He played for Miles and knows that Miles is not the sharpest knife in the drawer and that LSU won many games NOT because of Miles but in spite of Miles
I detest fans like you. You shite on the accomplishments of the program you root for. How dumb is that?

And 1 NC, 8 years ago.
That took extraordinary circumstances to achieve.
And played for another
That's better than 95% of his coaching counterparts.

So you are saying this is a lie?????? Rational LSU fans know this about Miles.... There are games he lost cause of his so-called football smarts... He also showed guts by going for it at times. But overall he is a decent coach who took over a program loaded with talent and did a great job of keeping it going. LSU was very lucky to even get into the 2007 title game... And yes they werea much better team than OSU....2011 was one of the greatest regular season teams in LSU history but Miles got outcoached BIGTIME when it mattered most.....

Funny how it depends who says these things to react a certain reaction. Had another player said this people would be trashing him that wasn't as liked as hester

You mean he got outcoached the 2nd time it mattered. Because he certainly out coached Saban in Bryant Denny at the Game of the Century which was billed as the game for all the marbles. I guess you just don't count that right? Also the best coach in all of cfb ( saban), with by far the most talent (4/5 #1 classes) gets out coached and loses to a less talented team EVERY SINGLE YEAR.

And has had 4th quarter miracles in 2 of his last 3 wins against Miles
And the mulligan
Bama is good and has great fortune against LSU, as well.

Being entitled to an opinion doesn't make it a good one ! if it adds a negative vibe to the team it is not a good one,he after all is expected to be Tiger fan !

So you are saying that the 9-6 game meant more than the Title game?????

And I don't think Miles outcoached Saban in game one.. I think LSU players outplayed Bamas........

In that same night, Nick Saban asked his PK to attempt FGs of 44, 50, 49, 46, and 52 yards when he knew the guy didn't have the leg for it. Meanwhile, Les punted the ball down to the goal line when he knew his kicker was out of range.
Keeping in mind the two teams combined for less than 15 points (in OT), 35 1st downs, and 600 yards, who would you say the better coach was?

Ok we can go that way.... Ill give Miles credit for those choices.....

I just wish he would have been half as smart on 01/09.
