Played a minute of garbage time for the Bulls and scored on his only shot. But the fact he is an NBA player right away when most on here said he would be playing overseas is noteworthy in its own right.

Edit-espn had his shot as a 3 originally and it was changed to a 2

Great for him!! I always respected his drive, no matter how bad LSU was Blakeney always played his heart out.

Lester Earl or someone here posted a great statistic that Blakeney had like 14 uncontested jumpers in his last season at LSU. He had no help, including from the coaches.

Right. So many ranters assured us his ceiling would be Europe. I’m not expecting many of those to come forward and eat their well deserved portion of crow.

Well he is playing in a league that plays very defense so there's that. Good job Blakeney

If he had played a year under wade i think he would have been a decent first round pic, I really think it would have benefitted him. And of coarse he would have helped lsu out a lot too this year

A minute and a wide open 3?

Yeah he’s made it.

Yes, and this only makes Blakeney’s achievement even more impressive. So, your point would be ...?

Well, the thought was he wouldnt be on an NBA roster period. So getting on the floor in the bulls first game may not be so pitiful after all.

It's because Joe Alleva went the least path of resistance and hired the good ole boy who spent an eternity at North Texas after being shunned from LSU from the Lester Earl deal.

Although happy for him, it's a PERFECT situation for him. Bulls could be the worst team in the league. LaVine is hurt for another month or two, Mirotic just got his jaw broken from his own teammate who is now also suspended.

I think most (including myself) said he wouldn't get drafted and that he did not.

The bulls also might have the worst roster in the league. When lavine and kris Dunn return he might be sent to the G league

I never doubted how good of a player Simmons was/is. He just rubbed a lot of people the wrong way during his 1-year drive-by at LSU. LSU meant nothing to him. He was here to bide time for a year til he got drafted.
