its all up to mett, if he is banged up let him decide if he can go. If he can go we still need to let aj at least get a series at some point. I have no problem with not letting AJ get series while a national title is still in view but now the games really dont mean as much so you build to the future. Mett has earned his playing time so you dont bench him or start others over him but during the game give the young guy a series.
we did it during 07 but it worked so we need to never do that again

so every 3 or 4 years nothing wrong with using a vet qb and bringing the replacement along slowly.
And bringing in a rs sophomore that was the best high school player ever in Louisiana is not the same as bringing in a true frosh. Rp was a good qb, had a rocket for an arm and played against scrub teams.
JJ didn't have much experience and won a bowl game. Flynn had barely any experience minus throwing pic sixes in scrub time and won a bowl game.

yes and that was during a nc season, this isn't a nc season so aj not being as much of a stud as rp doesn't really matter. he isn't going to cost us anything at this point. So we should give him a series because its clear he is the guy we believe is the future qb at LSU. also its not like im saying blow his redshirt because that has already happened.
the point is we have used a system like i suggested using in the past and it worked out extremely well. It would have really paid dividends in 08 had rp not been a shite head because we wouldn't have had a kid that hadn't taken a meaningful snap as our qb.
Im not saying to bench mett forever or even split it 50/50 just that for a&m, arky and the bowl AJ should get at least one if not two series in those games just to get his feet wet against a team that is still trying. I even think it was a good idea to keep mett in and not play AJ against bama because that would have been a bad move. this however is now a season that we need to still honor our guys that have put in the time but also start to find the next guys to step up giving them some time. I also doubt mett would see it as fricking him over to let AJ get a few snaps. Mett has displayed his arm on the field for scouts all year and they know what he can do.

I dont think its necessary to give Jennings playing time. Plenty of QBs come in and make contributions without any experience. Jameis Winston, Johnny Manziel...our problem has been player development, not talent.
Assuming Cam is coming back, he'll have a QB ready to go.
