He did look terrible until he got the gredn jersey on then it was a 180. You can rewatch it to see what I'm talking about.

I'm gonna side with the one that gives us best chance to win.

Tell me if I'm wrong but only qb on our roster I've seen take a meaningful snap is our starter, ZM.

You people pimping these players out that haven't proven a thing are sad little people.
I don't get it.

Remember when all of these same comments were tied to Jerard Randall? Next big thing, finally a real dual threat QB, blah blah blah
You've been reading my comments on here huh, Meaux?

The XBox Fart Knocker Kiddie Clique of JennSwag Jock Sniffers are absolutely besides themselves. They are absolutely obsessed with having a "Dual Threat" QB as the starter at LSU. It's the same wretched excess BS hype that we saw from them over Randall and RS.

Mysterious Little Creatures they are.

You keep calling people xbox warriors, but what exactly is your pedigree?

I do not want a running qb at LSU. It's not up to me though. It's up to les.

Exactly. I think of a taller RW in his nc state days

Eta : my last comment about les was because I'm sure we'll see him run some option no matter what.

U guy's fret too much. When Jennings has his chance he will be great. Les will love him some Jennings like he loved JJ.

It amazes me people still think all he can do is run. He was a pass-first QB in high school just happens to have very good mobility.

hopefully jennings gets a chance to get some snaps if we blow some teams out.

rivers was always going to be a career clipboard holder.

Every report so far says that Rivers has improved big time. It's going to be a battle between them. I knew Jennings had great potential from the get go, but writing Rivers off is too soon. Especially with how much progress he's made. Jennings played with the 2nd stringers yesterday, but that's because he worked out with the afternoon group the whole week. They needed to get him reps with the veterans. On the other hand Rivers spent the whole week with the veterans. So he had plenty of snaps with them.

IMO Jennings can get more playing time if Cam chooses to use him in packages. His ability to throw makes him a great option to keep the defense guessing. But that doesn't mean he's beaten Rivers out just yet.

Either way works for us. Both have big potential. If Jennings gets the nod it's great, but if Rivers does it's the same because it means he beat out a damn good player.

Works for me!

Be nice to have a passing QB who is mobile enough to extend plays.

So many words, with such a lack of real information.

He has been splitting time with Rivers. Hill ran with 3s today. Is he our 3rd team back now?

No. Hill is 4th right now. Bc he won't be playing for a few games and we're going to give the guys reps who will be playing. 247 announced a week or 2 ago that Jennings was the #2 guy.

the interest in Jennings has nothing to do with being a dual threat QB...

Good gosh that is fricking stupid.

First off he's known for his accuracy, running is a plus. Second off, because JJ flat out sucks does not mean every black running qb will suck. Third off, look around college football. It's filled with top notch dual threat QB's. I absolutely want a guy who can extend a play in college and is not a freaking statue back there.

WHY NOT WANT THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS? Ryan Perrilloux would have been amazing.. but that is so unfair to judge any QB because of JJ. He never had accuracy or legit qb skills. (IMO) and he wasn't that great of a runner. he did improve his running tho as he got older.

So you wouldn't want Robert Griffin at QB?

I absolutely want a running QB at the college level who can throw even better than he runs.

LSU’s quarterbacks Zach Mettenberger and Stephen Rivers threw some passes to receivers and this was one of the few times we have seen them make any types of throws in that setting. It was just against air, but Mettenberger and Rivers both had some zip on their passes and Cam Cameron commented on both of them for showing proper footwork and being quick and decisive when he threw out some coverages he quizzed them on.

quote:

During the media portion, Cam Cameron hasn't had the quarterbacks doing a ton of passing routes as the staff did in year's past. So there's not been a ton to draw on with how the quarterbacks are looking. But I have been told many times that both Mettenberger and Rivers are having good offseasons, and both appear as focused as ever. I mentioned this earlier in the week, but it looks like Mettenberger has shed some weight and Rivers has put on some pounds and muscle, which is what both guys needed.

LINK

Along with others I'm not going to look up for you. Other than what I already wrote of Rivers practicing with the 2nd team for the majority of the week. While Jennings was with the 3rd team. Because of that they needed to get him reps with the 2nd team, which they did on Friday.

Jennings and Harris both are pass first QB's with the Ability to run. People confuse this with Michael Vicks who want to run every play.

I get that y'all were scorned by JJ but not every duel threat QB is like that. JJ was good athletically but was a poor decision maker.

Y'all need to get over the idea that dual threat = JJ
