And I think a lot of people are gonna be pleasantly surprised with Neal. Kid is as strong as an ox, very explosive, and relentless. He can play. Coach O said he can be a Trent Cole type of player.
That would be great.

A lot of people forget / overlook Neal and think Bain is the other starting DE, mainly due to the spring game. Lewis Neal didn't play in the spring game because he had a minor ankle injury, so Bain ran with the 1s. But after the game, Les said if he was healthy, Neal would have been the other DE opposite of Bower and he's the starter. And Ed O has been very bullish on Neal as well.
Really think he has a big year for us.

Seems like a legitimate question, but apparently not on this board
most on this board don't accept legitimate questions and seem to pride themselves in belittling honest and legitimate posts.
having said that, there are some good posters that keep an open mind and don't dismiss open points off hand. I think your point is good and maybe we can switch a TE to a DE.

A lot of excitement about potential of what Key can do on the field. I sure hope it's true and he is a better Mingo.
I also want to see more of Lewis Neal. Wasn't sure about him be a little shorter than we typically field. If my memory is correct he is right at 6'2".

I thought Jacory Washington redshirted. Why the hell did we burn a year for him when we already had 4 TE's ahead of him last year

I expect Shipley to move to OT. The only real possibility I see is Moreau.

Yeah Gordon is a mauler. Run blocker. Way different body type and style than smith and Washington. Washington is definitely a pass catching TE.
And Shipley is getting looked at Tackle after he gets his body right.
The only problem I have with this idea is fire and swag. The nature of a TE is different from a DE. It's the hunted becoming a hunter type of mentality. I honestly think Gordon has it but none of the others. (Purely speculation my opinion. I have never met these guys just want her them during big cat drills and etc. )

The dude played DT that should tell you how strong he is!! I know he probably played there more bc of the speed advantage he had there but still would not have played there if he couldn't handle it. I think he will need some good moves to get past those big nimble tackles though. Them boys can reach out and touch you from a far.

We will have 8 DEs in the Fall, so we don't have to move anybody. Bain will be suspended 1 maybe 2 games at the most. Key is cleared and will enroll in the Fall as well.
Bower, Neal, Clark, Bain, Washington, Key, Patterson, and Teuhema. Hell, they were trying Patterson out at LB, but it isn't official that he'll move there yet. Herron can also play DE as well as Godchaux in a 3-4.
We have plenty of options at DE that are already defensive lineman.

Yea he was cleared by the ncaa and will enroll in the fall.
For the record, so was T Valentine... right? It was the SEC that held him out. CRAZY

six TE's of which only one is needed on most plays

Technically it was LSU that held him out.
