The "rowdy" fans cheering were a bunch of my friends from Houston, so expect it to be even louder at the Shell Open. I can't wait until he comes to NOLA for Zurich, it's going to get wild.

He has his full card but his priority ranking was up there. He needed others in front of him to not play for him to get in. Probably about 30-40 people. After they restructure which should be very soon, he should be top 130 which puts him in everything he wants to play barring wgc and majors. So this guarantees he could play in any event he wants. He only needs about 300k more to secure his card for next year.

He is a great kid. Class act. Greatest thing was some little girl after his Sunday round have him a ball. He was going to sign it and she stopped him and said no that's my personalized ball for you.

Houston is not invite only. You have until Friday the week before to commit to it. They leave spots for either top 5 or top 10 from previous week. I'd guess 144 from the top 160 are playing next week. So he would have been on a waiting list anyway and probably not made it.

Minus a couple from 144 from Monday qualifiers too.

Just double checked. Reordered next Monday. He should be top of his category. Also top 10 from previous tourney not 5.

You are going to have to be more specific. There are quite a few white guys he played with in college
Do I know you?

He was following in the crowd but he played at LSU. Talked to him a bunch after round.

They were trashing him pretty hard on the wrap up show Sunday. They said he brought a "rowdy" disrespectful gallery.

Whoever said this is full of crap. I walked with the leaders from 13 in and there were no disrespectful fans. I saw maybe 7 to 10 people walking around with lsu shirts following him. One person asked if they were loupe's fan club. One lsu guy just laughed them off and said I don't think loupe has a fan club.

The bigger thing I saw was when kuchar hit a shot, there was a loud Koch cheer. Loupe got some cheers also. When Bowditch hit silence because nobody knew who he was.

Also would much rather watch loupe play then Kevin na. When I saw loupe on Sunday he was playing plenty fast.

Among regular tour stops (Not the majors or the WGC events), there are 2 types of tournaments: Opens and Invitationals.

There are only a few Invitationals: Arnold Palmer, the Heritage, Colonial, Memorial, and the National. They restrict automatic entry to limited number of players and the rest come on invitation. There is no Monday qualifying and no playing your way in.

The rest are Opens. In an Open, anyone with a full tour card is eligible, and the rest of the field is filled by people on a partial card, top players on the Web.com tour if needed, people who play their way in during prior weeks, a small number of sponsor's exemptions, and Monday Qualifying.

Houston is an Open.

Yeh but if you listen to Johnny Miller or go read twitter Loupe is the new golf antichrist.

I didn't watch but if he's slow enough to get that many comments it's not good. Slow play itself is the golf antichrist.

That said, good for Loupe. He'll speed it up I'm sure.

Loupe makes Kevin Na look like John Daly in terms of pace of play. Its excruciating to watch, and probably worse to play with. Johnny Miller was 100% correct in his assessment.

They went on to say the only reason the group didn't get put on the clock was that the 2 guys he was playing with are very fast.

It takes Loupe longer to hit a shot than it takes Jum Furyk to read a putt. That is crazy.
