If you missed the spring game, take a look at the youtube video below to see Hatch make some throws. I know everybody on the rant has decided he has the arm of a 12 year old girl, but there are some encouraging signs in the video.

Oh, and before you post, yes I know it was mop up duty against MTSU and the spring game. Ignore the results of the play and just look at the physical throws themselves.

I like his scrambling/ability to create when nothing is there.

One badly underthrown ball but also some really nice throws. He's quicker than I realized too. I understand the D couldn't really go at him like they wanted, but he's definitely more mobile than I realized.

He made some damn good throws. Actually better than I remember him throwing in the Spring Game.

He does seem to lock on to one WR but Flynn did that real bad and that worked out.

I feel better about the season now.

These are highlights. We don't need highlights from Hatch, just consistency and mistake free football. Let the talent around him make the highlights. Hopefully he is more accurate than Flynn and can get the ball to the open man and occasionally scramble when we need a first down.

Yeah, and since he was playing against our defense(spring game), I'm happy to see him scrambling.

I saw these highlights a few months back and I knew we were in good hands.

I was there at the Spring Game and honestly didnt recall him being that good at all.

I guess my expectations were higher then.

When he under threw the ball, that could've been a case where he claimed he meant to do it but actually didn't

In that case, their is no possible way that CB could've made a play on the ball and is one of the worst thrown balls to defend. So it worked out for Hatch, even if his armstrength sucks.

im worried--lee is a much better qb but obviously he doesnt have the seasoning. i really was hoping he would break thru enough to lead us. but if he hasnt then im with the coaches on the decision, just wish he had b/c he has serious talent. hes a better passer than flynn and my mid season he could have been pretty damn good with better supporting talent than even flynn had. hatchs underthrows worry me a lot. we shall see though

I was there as well. The only thing Hatch had over Lee was he 'appeared' more relaxed in the beginning. Lee looked nervous at the start, then the coaches crawled his butt and he looked very good from the second quarter on, much more poised. He has a very good, 'live', arm. Hope he gets some good reps in the first three games. Either way, I think the team will be ok. But my money is on Lee to be the eventual starter as the season goes on.

You guys are in a lot of trouble this year. He is so green and will make a lot of mistakes...that's just the nature of the beast. What happens if he goes down due to injury?
