Maybe the scoreboard is run by a teenage girl. Lots of them say declarative sentences with a rising pitch on the last word, creating the illusion of a question:

"Yesterday I went to the store? And I bought some candy? And it was like really good?"

Now we correct folks and really dont know the answer ourselves.

Of course you must know that the Star Spangeled Banner has a hell of alot more than 4 sentences. We only sing the first stanza, the other 3 stanzas answer the questions posed in the first.

Folks just love to try to pile on around here, whether they have all the info or not.
