You'd have a lot more credibility if you hadn't been a Jefferson basher before the season even started.

I suspect you're an alter just trying to get a rise, but I'll play.

THE PROBLEM WITH THIS OFFENSE IS AFTER WE GET A LEAD AND ESTABLISH OURSELVES BY TAKING COMMAND OF A GAME IS THEY GET LAZY AND SLOPPY AND LOSE THEIR INTENSITY! ITS THE CONCENTRATION LEVEL OF THE OFFENSE THAT DROPS OFF DRAMATICALLY!

The problem with the offense is so much more than their intensity. Matter of fact, I think it's NOT their intensity. I think the want is there.

The problem is, our offense doesn't score.

Our first score was at the end of the first after the defense got us the ball at the SEVEN yard line. And it still took us 4 downs to punch it in. Offense goes 7 yards in 4 plays for a score.

Our second score, the defense gave us the ball at the 41. We went 9 yards. 9! and kicked a field goal.

so far our offense had to go 16 yards to get 10 points.

Third score, Patrick Peterson - no offense whatsoever.

Fourth score, the offense drove 72 yards down to the WVU 5... and kicked a field. That was our only sustained scoring drive.

To sum up, the offense had to go a total of 88 yards to get 13 points. It's not a matter of intensity. It's a matter of play calling and execution

Because Jefferson already hadn't started a full season of games or anything...right?

The problem is coaching and discipline all the way around.

Are they coaching them to drop the pass? I doubt it. Are they coaching them to throw the pass into the grass? I doubt it. Explain the discipline comment. This team is undefeated and looking to go 5-0. We are winning and an elite program. Sit in TS losing to the U by 60 in the pouring rain and then maybe you can appreciate what we have now. Geaux Tigers!

Mike, are you trying to get this to any papers? Let me know how I can help, or, if I can use your words to send to local papers.

They are not coaching them the little things that make the difference.

Dropped passes, penalties, PP's Heisman "pose", the mental mistakes, getting frustrated and losing their cool, etc. All results of bad coaching.

Did you see Bama play this weekend? Did you see them lose composure after falling behind or making bad mistakes? (int in endzone etc.)

No. Want to know why? They are taught REAL poise and discipline. To do what you do and do the small things right for 60 minutes.

THATS the difference. We have just as much talent as anyone. They just arent being coached up or coached to their potential.

I have. I am over 40 and been there done that. Thats where we are headed again if the program doesnt get turned around quick.

The teams we have beat most likely wont be playing in real bowl games if they even go bowling. Maybe WV.

Still, its the small things that are falling thru the cracks and WILL cost you when you play a real quality team.

Well duh, but the credibility of the Rant is about like Wikipedia. Big chunks in the opinion pages tend to get more chatter amongst the higher-ups, or so it would seem.

Although I try to avoid this for my blood pressure, I saw the gumps get very lucky. That requires no discipline.

Oh God. Miles, at his worst, will win 8 games. Give me a break with the doom and gloom shite.

Dear Mike,

Your letter was inspirational. Probably the most though-provoking post on Tiger Droppings that I've read all day.

Thanks for your time and support of the team.

I have decided that we're switching to Lee from here on out. And I'll be checking back in occasionally here at Tiger Droppings to see how that works out.

Thanks again,
Miles

My housemate, State Penn, says we are all crazy for asking for Jarrett Lee again. She was screaming at the TV much of that year.

And thats what you are OK with?

Lets just roll over and hand the SEC back to Bama and Fla.

If thats the case, lets hire Dinardo back and pay him 1/4 of what we are paying Miles.

The most frustrating thing about this offense is that we have just as much talent at skilled positions (if not more in some cases) as Oregon, Boise State,Alabama, Arkansas, TCU, Florida, Nebraska, etc. Enough talent to have a prolific offense not just average, acceptable or serviceable offense. Most fans are not asking for prolific, they are just asking for above average to help out a defense that is prolific and we can't even get to that point. We don't need Payton Manning. We just need a Flynn or Mauk to keep this sports car between the lines at a decent rate of speed and blow by a few cars a couple of times a game without crashing.
