quote:Why do people keep saying this? What is the basis for the notion that Richard has shown that she can start? She barely played this year. Mikaylah Williams came in as a freshman and started immediately. Richard hasn't done anything like that. I hope she's a superstar, but I haven't really seen anything from her in her limited playing time to suggest she is the obvious starter at PG next year and is going to be an impact player.
We do NOT need a starting point guard. Richard can fill that role.

Sarah Williams signed with Texas
____
False. Serah Williams is still in the portal. She would be a great get.

Williams is visiting LSU this week. I'm sure there is an NIL package thrown at her. She is only considering LSU, Uconn, UNC.

I think Richard has shown more than enough that she’s capable, in the limited minutes she played. We can’t go into the portal EVERY YEAR and never actually develop players. Just because someone doesn’t play heavy minutes as a freshman, especially at that position, doesn’t mean they’re not ready to be the starter their 2nd year.
In Richard you have the potential to have a three year starter at the position. Additionally, the other four starters will be veterans. She may take some lumps early next season, but by conference play I believe she can be a solid starter AND be a consistent scoring threat from that position………something we haven’t had there since Pointer and Morris were our point guards.
I have a feeling this is what we’re going to see, because the coaching staff and players are so high on her.
