Exact. That would be like people saying Troy is simply a much better team than LSU since they beat us.

That's not the point. That would be like people trying to say LSU was back near the top of the SEC in the same season that they were beaten by a seemingly inferior team like Troy. A blowout loss like UGA sustained to LSU doesn't happen to teams that have separated themselves unless the opponent is elite, and the arguement hinges on LSU not being elite.

UGA has not distanced themselves from the rest of the SEC yet. They have won an unimpressive eastern division and not gotten over the Bama hump, like Florida did under McElwain. I think Kirby has them trending up and this may be the season that changes, but at this point they are not in the same conversation as Bama, same as LSU isn't.

Let UGA play Bama anytime other than the week after the Iron Bowl and I promise it’s more like what it’s looked like the past 8 years with us vs Bama.

I know we struggled with bama but damn, we dominated Georgia last year rite? Did that happen or am I living in the twilight zone?

So just think about what you said. We dominate UGA and got dominated by Bama. That makes no sense on the surface.

How could you guys expect anyone to have confidence in LSU to ever be consistent? A team that dominates UGA should not get boat raced by Bama, at home no less. You may still lose to Bama but to not even be competitive? It makes no sense at all and it makes people not trust our team to be consistent.

So use your own logic on UGA. How are we to believe that UGA has turned the corner and separated themselves in the conference when they were boat raced by inconsistent teams like LSU and UT? That's the entire point. Beating UGA isn't proof that LSU is elite, but it's pretty strong evidence that UGA isn't elite either.

How about in the 2018 CFP when UGA scored 23 points more than a month after the Iron Bowl?

So your point wasn't that they somehow benefit from playing Bama following the Iron Bowl?

It’s this simple. Georgia is no better than LSU. If anything LSU is better than Georgia just look at the outcome last season. The difference is Georgia is in the East and has a easier road to the SEC Championship than LSU does. Georgia gets this hype because they will most likely be in the SEC Championship. Anyone who watches college football knows that Georgia hasn’t separated themselves from the pack. The only team that can say they have separated themselves is Alabama. As of right now Alabama is in a class by themselves and we are all trying to catch them and when I say all I mean LSU, Georgia, Auburn, and Florida.

Georgia, who in the last two seasons has made the SECCG twice with one win, won its division twice, made the Playoff, won a playoff game, won 24 games and scored a combined 51 points against Bama is not as good as LSU, who in the last two seasons has finished no higher than third in its division, won a combined 19 games and scored a combined 10 points against Bama.

Jesus. Being biased towards LSU is something we are probably guilty of at some point. But this is delusional.

IF UGA kept running the ball last year we most likely would have lost...., Holeyfield was tearing us up.

UGA was in the NC game two years ago and was in the SEC championship game last year.

Outsiders are going to excuse a hiccup when the rest of the resume is solid.

That obviously means A&M and Florida are better than LSU

That's a myth peej. LSU adjusted to UGA's interior rushing game by shading the NT and took away the only thing they were doing well. UGA had no answer for it, the mark of a team that is good but still flawed. Feldman covered it in great detail in a piece a few months ago. Fair warning, it doesn't fit some here's narative that Orgeron is just a bumbling coonass incapable of contributing to in game x's and o's.

Holyfield's last two rushes were for 10 and 12 yards, then Kirby inexplicably stopped giving him the ball.

Did they win those games? Not arguing UGA doesn't deserve some respect, or that Kirby doesn't have them going in the right direction. Chizik is asserting that UGA has separated themselves from the rest of the SEC and belongs in the same conversation as Bama and Clemson, two teams who have combined for the last 4 NCs. Do you agree with him or not?
