An accurate strike zone from home plate ump would have been a start.

w/o question, last nites umpires uber small strike zone prolonged the game. "accurate" is difficult to be used as a barometer. the ump sets the zone (with help from the powers that be) and goes with it. as long as he's consistent and uses the same zone for each team, it is technically "accurate". small zones mean more walks and more offense thus slower play by the pitchers and longer games.

Kind of weird... there weren't a whole lot of throws to first to hold runners, or many walks to the mound to change pitchers, or long injury timeouts... just seemed strange to go on so long.

13 runs, 78 at bats, 6 or 7 errors, 12 walks, and Sam Houston threw six guys, many changed during top of inning.

Not really strange...at all.
