especially out of state student fees

While I 100% agree, didn't F. King say something about preferring to not increase enrollment through out of state students and something about wanting to focus more on in-state students?

I remember the answer was some bs lip service about strengthening the state, but the truth is they just want that TOPs money with less eyes asking question about tuition and fees. A lot (not most, a lot) of the in-state students leave after graduation anyway. They leave because of how the state is run and the effect it has on the job market. If we fixed that, then bringing in out-of-state students wouldn't matter for the local economy because they would be enticed to stay and help build / create that local economy.

Alleva replacement

Is there an open position? Did he get fired, resign or retire?

Herb Vincent, Verge Ausberry, and Eddie Nunez will be the ones tossed around.

I would go with Verge.

King is safe until the next GOP governor. JBE likes King. The next AD will likely be another political crony.

Verge has been grooming himself for that spot for a while. He'd be nothing more than another "yes man" to them, which is exactly what they want.

I think you might be surprised . Verge knows what it takes to be successful. He has seeen it. And he has also seen what keeps you from being ultra successful. Having both experiences is critical when becoming the number one guy.

His grooming himself for the position is a good thing. He is positioned politically to be able to not be a yes man and get away with it. He can build the support behind his agenda and maintain that agenda in the face of some upstream flak because he will have the support from the folks that can help fend off the upstream.

Stephen Moret as Chancellor of LSU is the answer. He is an outstanding leader and left LSU because of the spineless BS tactics of F King. He loves LSU and will make great things happen.

He is a brilliant mind and an equally adept leader. But, he rubbed the current LSU brass the wrong way and remember he worked for Jindal so guess what, he had enemies in many corners. Hang around the guy for 2 minutes and its pretty darn obvious he needs to be in THE leadership position at LSU.

Agree. Verge is a nice guy but resetting the table doesn't need a nice guy. Verge would have been perfect to take over for Bertman if he had his current experience level.

Now, we need a complete make over. Fire F King, Fire Alleva and clean house. Some good people will be shown the door but its necessary in order to get rid of the out guard and really change the culture.

Just ask around LSU and see how Alleva manages his coaches, interacts with TAF etc. Pathetic. Our good coaches pretty much manage him (everyone needs feedback even Will Wade and Paul Maneri). Think back to Les -- a respected AD might have gotten Les to get a proven OC after the 1 year failure of Cam Cameron Wade is awesome but he could tweek some of his stuff and be even better.

A rudderless ship Tiger fans. A big powerless, money making ship but we have zero true direction

Totally agree it starts with Moret. He will pick great people. And all departments cultures will change. And we will begin a match to excellence just like we did with Emmert. The difference is Moret will stay for a long time. Unless and of course he becomes Governor. Which would mean even greater things for LSU

Don’t shortchange Verge. He is a competitor and given the reins would make multiple changes in the culture. He has seen the best in the business that work for excellence ( Arnsparger, Saban., Bertman ) and he watched them close. And he has seen what can keep you from excellence ... which can be the greatest teacher.

He has the support of the right people which means his agenda will be supported and will give him the cover he needs to do what is right and not politically expedient. He needs the right chancellor of course.
