Sounds like Reptile Disfunction.

So if TCU couldn't get Dixon, what makes LSU think they can get him?
TCU is his alma mater...
or does Coaching SEC team, > alma mater?
TCU is a basketball graveyard, particularly going into the Big 12. That isn't a bad move for football, but they're going to be in last place on a constant basis in hoops.
Dixon isn't stupid. No chance he'd leave Pitt for a similar school with less competitive stature. LSU is a horse of a different color despite the weak performance of the program the last 20 years.
Nobody at ESPN is writing up TCU as a sleeping giant in basketball; they are writing LSU up that way, though.

When do you think you'll be getting any more updates/rumors from your "trusted sources"?

How do you know Dixon was in Atlanta???????
Posted on 4/11/12 at 6:12 pm to Royal Tiger Fan
Agreed. I can't see Alleva going to Atlanta just to meet with an agent. Theus and agent can come to BR. He's unemployed and doesn't need to keep any secrets.
Unless Joe is knocking out a few interviews while there.

We don't. The fate of the rant is riding on macaoidh's insiders.

with our facilities and the willingness of our fans to re-embrace the program if an effort to win is put forward, it would be a great place to coach and recruit. Our fans our wild and recruits love that shite...Dixon wouldn't have any problem signing kids from other parts of the country.

I agree with what you said but the guy that wrote that article is a LSU guy...hell he wrote for the Reveille so he knows LSU capabilities first hand.
I would be more geeked up about that article if a guy like Andy Katz (who has no obvious LSU ties) wrote it.

I think he knows the capability of LSU's basketball program. He came up with a few articles for LSU last season after we beat Marquette and seemed to have good respect for our program.

That is insane that Jamie Dixon has NEVER won less than 20 games. EVER. Only once has he not made the tournament.
That's like a football coach thats been to a BCS bowl every year.

True...but what i was trying to say was it's easier for a guy who is probably an LSU fan to say it is a sleeping Giant. It would have raise more eyebrows if a guy like Katz who probably isnt a LSU Fan (fan meaning like how we are fans of the Tigers) would have wrote a article saying this a prime job for the right coach.
Fran alluded to that on twitter...but he was advocating the job for Johnny Jones

Hell if I know. I'll pass along whatever I hear, but I'm not going to be a pest about it.
My guess is this thing should move along very quickly now, but you never know. When Alleva zeroed in on Trent Johnson, that hire was made in a rapid fashion.

Meh, making the Sweet 16/Elite 8 is like BCS bowls.

macaoidh, it's good to see you posting here. I was a P&G subscriber for its entire run and greatly appreciated your insight and analysis. A lot of people have insight. A few of those do a good job of communicating it. You are of the latter.
