You think it's a coincidence we got 2 bye weeks before our 2 most important games of the year?
Well considering those weeks were open and we had 2 byes weeks to fill. What happens for normal seasons where we only have 1 bye week?

Idk, we'll see what happens when we figure out the schedule for 2105 and beyond.
How many times do you have to be told that us having 2 bye weeks in a season only happens 2 of every eight years. It is a simple fact we only have 1 bye weeks on the others. What then?

Well those weeks were open due to SEC scheduling.

No clue, those schedules haven't been set yet.

Gosh man, who cares. That's two or three years away. Don't you understand!??!?!? We got a bye week before a Thrsday game that we didn't even want. What more could you ask for!?!?!??

So fill me in on what our schedule looks like in 2016?

Who's our 2 biggest teams in the way to us reaching the SEC championship game?

We have one bye and will play A&M on a short week the last game of the season. You want your precious bye then?

A&M had a tradition of playing thanksgiving night for many many years. When accepted into the SEC the conference knew that was part of their history and their preference was to play every thanksgiving
LSU has a tradition of Saturday night football in Tiger Stadium. That's all but gone by the wayside now. Screw A&M and their traditions. That was something they agreed to with UT when they were in the Big XII.

Again, I'll wait until those schedule are set before I start constantly bitching.

Okay dude. We'll get a bye week before our two toughest games every year. Was that the deal? Cause A&M got a Thanksgiving home game every other year forever. If you don't think that's the case then I dont know what to say.

Every year is fluid. The SEC could go to 9 conference game schedule by 2016 and neither team will want to play on thanksgiving. We could be playing a cupcake team the week before A&M, if the game remains on Thursday. You guys are crying about a schedule that hasn't been discussed yet.
Look at the 2014 schedule and tell me it doesn't set up as good as it can for a run at a championship.

It doesnt. We could not be playing on thursday

Mark my words. A&M will play a Thanksgiving day home game every other year against LSU from here on out. I don't necessarily mind that but getting a bye week is hardly a fair deal.

I mean I guess 13 days rest would be better than 12 days rest.
Posted on 8/22/13 at 1:12 pm to EarthwormJim
Or not playing on thanksgiving day

Don't see how that impacts the football team coming off of 12 days rest. It might disrupt your plans, but the team will be alright.

Since you posted something basically alluding to the fact that if you have a gripe with the way things are being run you can pound sand.
What happens when LSU/SEC completely alienates the fan base, and people stop buying tickets/donating money(or doing it in the fashion that got us to where we're currently) to TAF.
Don't think it's feasible, check out the ticket market for the home games this year. More and more people are choosing to give up their tickets and stay home and watch on the tube. The last few years season tickets have been in high demand, this year you have people on the exchange trying to unload theirs at or near face. Hell next year the home schedule blows with the exception of Alabama, I can all but guarantee a number of people will sell and just pay an inflated price for the Bama ticket.

You do know that A&M got a bye week before this game too right?

Yeah, ok.

It's not that big of a compromise from the football team standpoint
Ask most SEC coaches if they want even a Friday game on their schedule much less a Thursday game.
I will admit having a bye week before the game makes it better, but when you a have a one bye week year what school or coach wants to wait for the last game of the year to get your bye?
It's going to cause problems, but hey by all means the SEC should give Texas A&M whatever they want, right.
We want Florida off our yearly schedule and I'm sure the SEC will find a way to do that for us.

Distraction of playing on thanksgiving, simple. And A&M got a bye as well. So glad we fought so hard and got ours too.
