Minimum 14 attempts per game.

Obviously, this will change as we get closer to the end of the season, but it just shows how truly special this guy is. Cherish this season, fellas, we won't see a QB like Joe Burrow for quite some time.

He's been a beast with his decisions and accuracy, and the receivers have stepped up to take advantage and stopped dropping half his passes

It's going to be a sad day when Burrow throws his last pass for us.

5 of the top 8 are QBs this season. While Joe's performance is the best we've seen in a long time, it's too early to celebrate this.

Exactly. With five out of the top 8 being in 2019, it has a lot to do with the type of offense that is being run now and the officiating as well. This is not to take anything away from Joe Burrow or Tua or anybody else, but the context is important when comparing two quarterbacks of the past.

148 for 186

Let that sink in.

Burrow is not just "in the mix" like the other guys you're talking about. He's 3% higher than the all-time completion percentage leader. On 186 attempts. Burrow's 79.6% figure is pretty saturated. It's not going to change a lot from here on out.

Not as many Heisman trophy winners on that list as I thought there would be.

Outside of Tua, everyone else on that list in 2019 has at least 50 attempts less than Burrow.

No it won’t... bc it’ll be a game winner for the national championship!

Not really. Shortly after that last pass, he and the rest of the team will be standing under a downpour of purple and gold confetti taking turns posing with the National Championship trophy.

Yes. He leads the country in YAC. 65% of Tua's yards are YAC. 37.5% of Burrow's yards are YAC. I'm not saying Tua is overrated, but his receivers boosts his stats A LOT.

Wow there is one on that list that went to high school in Baton Rouge.
Stefan Lefors is number 9 on that list and I coached him in baseball from Tball up to the 9 year old league in Denham Springs. Great kid.

Ok, let’s reduce all 2019 players completions by 5% to adjust for competition (even though we’ve already played the best D we’ll see in the regular season). Burrow is the only one left on the list. Not only that, but he’s STILL #2 all-time. For that to happen, his completions the rest of the year would have to be about 10% lower on average than they have been so it would have to be a HUGE drop off.

At any point in the past decade, we would’ve taken a guy who completed 60% of his passes for 3,500 yards and 20 TD’s and not known what to do with our excitement. He’s on pace for over 5,000 yards and 60 TDS (including SECCG and playoffs).

My point being this: whether he breaks all the records or not, this season is so far beyond what any of us have even been wishing for years. Just enjoy it, stop pinching pennies and finding reasons to enjoy it less.
