I was thinking about the basketball 4 with Pete, Shaq, Bob and CJ/MAR.
If you were making a line-up and was entering a tournament with a 10 man rotation, who would you choose and who do you start at the 3?
There are so many more that were individually better but I’m trying to build a roster.

Starters
Shaq 5
Bob 4 - he had range from the outside and was excellent inside
CJ 1/2
Pete 2/1
Reynolds (3/1, length and defense)

Reserves
Rudy (4) if you saw him pre knee injury you know.
G Temple (2 - I need defense at 2)
C Thomas (2/1)
John Williams (3/4)
Hamilton (4/5)

I’ll narrow it down to 1 for all sports.

Skip Bertman
Joe Burrow
Shaq O’Neal
Maravich or Cannon

Man it’s tough

Good selection. But you're right, it is a tough selection.

Maravich has the scoring per game record and that will NEVER be broken..44 points per game (and as we all know that’s without a 3 point line). Regarded as a top5 college bball player to ever play. Ever

Burrow had the goat season of ANY college football player. Ever

Skip started a dynasty and won many championships, one of the greatest if not the greatest baseball coach, ever

Those three have to be up there, no debate

The only debate should be shaq or cannon. As much as shaq has done, he’s more famous for his time After lsu, billy cannon did win a heisman here, so I will go with him

Skip
Burrow
Pistol
Cannon

Can I have a healthy Randy Livingston?

Shaq
Chris Jackson
Pistol Pete
Stromile
Livingston
Simmons (An interested Ben)
Brandon Bass
Marcus Thornton
Pettit
Macklin

Just toss out 5 of those on the floor however you want.

He was never interested while at LSU so you might as well take him off your list.

Bro, did you read my post? I also had Livingston on there who was never healthy.

This is all fantasy, not real.

Personally I don’t like Big Baby, and we won’t need him.

You gotta be kidding’. I watched the pistol play when I was about 10ish. Half the time you could never see in real time how the ball got from point a to point b. That guy had truly God given talent. Sad he left us so early. He’s far and away #1 - if you think Skip is #1, you haven’t lived long enough!

I put Reynolds at 3 for his length and ability to guard 1-4. Rudy was not nearly as athletic and was a post player. He was not a wing guy.

LSU has had some really great players in the last 25 years. I was just trying to build a roster and not just list the top 10 if that makes sense. That’s why I think players like Garrett Temple would be on my team. I need someone to play against really good 2’s.

DaWayne Scales, he was an unbelievable athlete. MVP of the 1980 sec tournament. He unfortunately never fulfilled his potential. Skills, size and a high flyer.

My thoughts exactly.....I loved me some Ice Man and I think he is often the most forgotten great player in LSU history but I don't know about putting him in from of Rudy.
