Like I said that last week, they really needed about 3 more weeks of OOC games to see where these pieces fit and to hone fundamentals. Some guys gave some false hope early on and I think that prevented Jay from tinkering more with some other fits.

People are jumping ship but you can see a few things starting to materialize:

-The pitching staff roles & performance (Moore's injury sucks). This was night and day from last week.

- Serna's emergence

Jay made a comment about 2 weeks ago about the transfers over swinging.

- Yorke had his worst game Friday night, but his approach has changed a bit previous to that, in a positive manner. Retuning balls up the middle and to the left side rather than pulling everything trying to hit a HR. His walks still continue to be a steadying influence on the order.

- Caraway has cut back his swing post Vandy series. It's quite obvious is you pay attention. Dude was taking some crazy hacks

Caraway last week 3-7 (.428) with 3BB+HBP and only 1 K. His on base last week was .600

-I saw Dardar on Friday night choke up on the bat with two strikes. Previously he was swinging out of his shoes with 2 strikes (Jay has also commented on this). Dardar had two balls hit right at players this weekend. He has had some of the worst batted ball luck on the team, overall. If he can cut down the K's, which it looks like he is focusing on, then he could really impact the lineup more positively.

All the rambling, there are things being attempted, and some are working, but its not an overnight thing.

Quit micromanaging this team.

I can imagine the posts. “The team sucks and JJ isn’t doing anything about it. He’s too hands off!”
