Nobody is beating Bama. Our players are very good but, Bama's are better.

Bama is very talented and enjoys a few built in advantages, BUT LSU can compete with them IF LSU was fully committed to winning. However, since Miles' last contract extension and this Coaching search debacle, it is painfully obvious that LSU is NOT and has NOT been committed to winning for more than 6 years!

Actually Georgia, Florida and Auburn have recruited as good or better than LSU per recruiting sites, depending on the year. All are in the top 7 in NFL players (35 to 44 players per). Florida State and Ohio State are very competitive nationally and the 2 non SEC teams in the top 7.

My biggest fear is not that O will fail, it's that LSU will consistently bring in enough talent to keep us 8-4, 9-3, 10-2 some years (just like with Miles)

Actually, I think Miles won 10 plus more times that he won 8 or 9 combined. Also, I think your not including bowl games in your addition, but not sure.

if LSU makes a quality hire this offseason, we at least have a chance to win some games against the juggernaut that is Alabama

Certainly, we could easily have won 3 of the last 5 games we played against the gumps with slightly better offenses, whether that was better play or better coaching. 2 years ago, better tackling would have won the game.

try to force Saban into retirement. As it stands now, he'll continue to beat up on us and will retire whenever he wants.

We won't force his retirement, he's retiring when he wants, assume he doesn't have an annuerism on the sideline.

Best case scenario; we hire Briles and completely give him the reigns to the offense.

Alleva took away an oppourtunity for a NC from the Duke lacrosse team based on a shaky allegation that proved false. I highly doubt he would allow Briles on staff. And, for once, I agree with him.

Not true. Alabama has eight consecutive No. 1 recruiting classes. Over the years, we've fallen particularly short in bringing comparable o-line talent. D-line talent as well.

3 of the last 6 years, we've played Bama straight up (should have won in 12 & 14).

We need a potent Offense, D is good enough.

We lost to Auburn and Florida on the last play of the game. We are those two games away from being ranked in the top ten and playing in the Sugar Bowl. If you can't tell that the team has played in a much more dynamic way on both sides of the ball, then I don't know what will convince you.

Absolutley.

Not to mention the distraction we had by firing a man that's been here for 11 years.

LSU will be fine.
CEO will hire a really good OC, he'll let him coach and we will be better there.
He will recruit as good or better than we've done and we will continue to get top players.

What CEO and this program needs to focus on is dominating every week and not taking plays/games off.
I believe we'd beat both fla and wisc and auburn again by 2 scores of we had chance to play again.
Alabama was a slug fest that they've not seen all year and we came up 10 short.

Calm down and enjoy what's about to happen.

So, he just took 2 top tier programs while in chaos and held them together with leftover playbooks and was successful. In the process he ran successful defenses and offenses(record setting) with the same players Miles couldn't move the ball with. He literally has ran a successful defense, offense, and program for the last 8 weeks and somehow we've already forgotten that? He's our coach now, get over it. I didn't necessarily want it, but the coach I wanted didn't want us(he's an a-hole anyway). You guys are such defeatist s

He didnt run the offense.
He didnt run the defense.
He didnt choose the schemes.
He didnt choose the staff.
Giving a coach credit for being an interim coach is ths dumbest thing ever. He was given the interim jobs at these places bevause every coordinator was either fired or 4 games into their tenures at the schools.

I also wouldnt call losing to a 14 point underdog at home while they were missing tons of defensive startersn as successful. If you do then i guess we have different standards.

Please explain how a dline coach gets the credit for our offense once miles was gone. Ed orgeron knows frick all about running an offense.
Good god

Ha ha. Im a defeatist becaus i want lsu's head coach to have actually ran a successful offense, defense, or program?
Lsu hiring ed orgeron is the most unqualified hire in big 6 history.
Do you think bama would promote a 55 year old career dline coach to hc?

You guys are such sad sacks. It's not even worth the argument because you've already decided the sky is falling. God bless the Tigers and go Bebe.
