In fact, the Bama LBs as per their fans are so much bigger , stronger and faster and in general so much more awesome that the actual LBs on the Bama team idolize and want to meet them

This is funny. I have a close friend who is a bama fan; he's logical mostly but said the other day when we were comparing units that LSU had decent LBers; they are small but fast. I had to educate that our backers have average size for a 4-3. RB22 is 240. KM is 240, and SF23 is 230. LBers in a 3-4 need to be bigger.

One of the guys on the sports animal radio station said if it wasn't cause for institutionalization, he would pick that game of Texas tech against bob stoops at home...

He deferred to OU due to not wanting to wear a straight jacket.

Claimed a major trap game, tho.

What nobody seems to recognize is the strength of schedule difference. LSU has played a far superior level of opponent thus far in 2011...

This was noted in B'ham paper this morning.

Strength of schedule:

LSU: Current 9th
Overall 5th

Bama: Current 57th
Overall 24th

Anyone think this might make a difference in the stats that they spew over daily?...

It will all come out on the field. What makes them the "so-called" experts. ESPN. Please!

The issue is that Bammers refuse to acknowledge or accept any other team/coach/scheme as being relevant.

The Bama LBs have also never had to deal with an effective FB scheming and Copeland is a fricking jumbo rolling down the field.

I would not be surprised to see some disarray from Bama in the first quarter when they are surprised by the intensity and efficacy of the LSU running game.

I expect to see at least three temper tantrums by Saban. He must threaten every one of them at halftime with loss of scholarship and having to go play for a Stephen F. Austin or a Samson U.

Saban is a great coach and he will figure out a way to adjust.

My point though was that the Bama LBs have truly not met an effective FB who is as good at his game as they are.

That is going to take some adjusting to and that will be fun to watch ( not that it would make a difference in the eventual LSU win )

I was really suprised they gave the coaching edge to Bama, I know people mistakingly think Saban is the better coach... I figured having Chief would put us over the top in that category... They really didnt mention Chief very much... Just shows they really dont know football very well. Chief is one of the top D Coord. in the SEC, highly respected in the top D Conference in the nation. Come on now....

Honestly, I'm also surprised they gave the edge to Saban too. As much as I HATE to admit it, Miles outcoached Saban in last years game, at least in the 4th quarter. At the very least it should be a wash since the series is tied since Saban came to Bama.

So far as DC goes. You're correct, Chief is good. But he's one against two of the best defensive minds in CFB...Saban & Kirby Smart.

Chief doesn't need someone to hold his leash, though!

If he worked for Saban he would.

@mpwilging: its all about the vegas line, little Nicky's 2 NC's with 2 different teams, TR and the lbs on the LB'S...this game is a pick em', still think LSU is going to win. At the end of the day though, all you can do is split hairs.

It pretty bold of them to call themselves "experts" too.

I think they will need several new headsets because he will be breaking a bunch of them when he throws them to the ground

If it makes you feel better, CFN is picking LSU in a close one.
