Abram was there a half year Saban's first year. Rumor has it they had words and Saban sent him packing.

deep thigh bruise that would never heal and lower back trouble. 88 was one of my most favorite LSU players ever. top ten.

He threw his body around and would make every attempt to catch the ball. He was a stand up guy for sure. It pains me that the Evangel connection was severed by his and Joshs treatment.

Oh man. I just got goosebumps. I'll never, EVER forget that moment. I was only in 5th grade, but I remember throwing the football on the field... what a special game that was.

No. Doug Johnson was QB, Wuerffel was gone.

FIFY

Cedric Donaldson's pick 6 sealed it for us. I broke the light on my ceiling fan in the den when he got the pick.

I saw him play in every game. I'm asking what treatment he and Josh received that you think messed up the Evangel recruiting? I've heard it was the opposite.

From what I remember Abram left the team before his scholly was up and Josh came back after the baseball stint.
Abram went back to coach at Evangel and was not complimentary of his time at LSU.
the josh and abram hookup only took place for a month or so due to injury and personalities.

Abram was one of my favorite Tigers during that miserable period of LSU football. I worked with a guy a few years ago who knew Abram. Apparently he was working at a bank in Shreveport with my coworker's wife.

Yeah. Making first team All SEC and having a major hand in the team's success in 2000
really screwed things up.

this has to be the absolute worst historical thread I've ever read

Lets see...

#88, Herb Tyler who was WR at LSU while Abram was the QB, while both being coached by Curley Hallman upset Danny Weurfel and the Florida Gators in '97. After the game Abram gets hurt by the falling goal posts in which the injury causes him to leave LSU.

Yeah, I heard that Saban and Abram had a falling out. He got hurt early in the season. I think it was the UAB game when LSU got upset. On the last play of the game, Josh audibalized out of the play called and didn't score. Saban was furious at him. In his TV interview, said Josh changed the play.

In the locker room, Abram called out Saban for blaming Josh and that was the last you heard of him. He was gone. Usually, when someone transfers, there's a press release and blurb, but with Abram, he vanished. Finished up his final year at some little school like Valdosta State. Josh stayed to keep his chances at the pro draft. Heard Saban felt like the Bootys were somewhat high maintenance.
