the statement that says his contract is null and void IF Miles is not the coach. If miles left tommorrow he has no contract if he signs the new one

Was this public knowledge? Do you think this is more about the possible Michigan thing or more just that Miles is older and may retire at some point and LSU doesn't want to be on the hook. So on these new extensions they are changing that?

The finished product has been on his desk since December 11th. Still not signed and won't be as written.

Lsu's finished product is on his desk...now the negotiations start. This happens everywhere. There will probably be 3 or 4 more "finished products" before it is signed

When did Miles do this?

Chavis is not going anywhere but to Knoxville to retire or coach at LSU.

This is silly. Go to Aggies....really?

I dont care how much money their school has...that would look terrible for their school. Really no hardware at all for Sumlin, and he's already the 4th highest paid coach in CFB.

LINK

Please look at his wins, conference championships, important bowl victories, etc.

His finishes in the DIVISION

Tied for 2nd (but LSU wins tiebreaker so 3rd by anyone not an aggie fan)
3rd place
6th place

This is why LSU fans are annoyed.

Can you imagine what LSU could achieve if we had any semblance of an offense?

So you're saying after the national championship year, and then again after undefeated regular season, SEC champs, and another appearance in the national title game. Got it. No way is going to the ship worthy of examining contracts!!!

I agree.

I'm starting to think Les's and Chavi's salaries should be reversed.

This guy has saved our arse so, so much.

I love Chavis. He's my favorite coach on the staff. But no coach especially an assistant coach leaving a program is an instant program killer. That's a little drama queenish

chavis aint goin anywhere, but if Chavis left I would immediately put LSUs win O/U next year from 10.5 to 7.5 without hesitation.

Well in 2007 he won the sec and bcs title. Was in his contract already to get a raise. In 2010 he did not receive a raise, he got an extension. In 2012 he received a raise for, winning the sec and playing for a title.

This using leverage is a bullshite made up thing by miles haters.

Now chavis got a raise when UGA was interested.

Yet posters believe Les says who starts. So which is it? He either meddles in the defense, or he doesn't. If he doesn't, then I don't want to ever see someone blame Miles for DJ welter.

Guess we need to hire Sumlin then.
